Can't say enough positive things about AAK. My child has been at the center from 4 mo old on, and…read moreevery classroom has been really great. There was a bit more turnover when we started (I believe in part bc in order to gain a 3rd keystone star, the bar was raised as far as teacher training- I'm a-ok with that) but the teachers there now are the one's who have been around for years. Very accommodating, as far as parent needs/ styles (ie, pick up times, cloth diapers, breast milk) are concerned. We drive all the way from the city (for nearly 3 years!) and it's still worth it!

It's not a "chain" of daycares, so it feels very homey. My oldest child always has funny stories about their classmates and teachers, and my youngest is always singing excited to play with friends in the morning. Whatever changes BLA has made over the past 5 years, it's working for us. I highly recommend Bright Light Academy to anyone seeking childcare in the area. We plan on keeping our children at Bright Light through Pre-K!

Within about a week of being at Bright Light, and after I had been a stay at home mom for many years and they had never left my side, they were waving goodbye and walking into class by themselves. The staff are compassionate, friendly and professional and tremendously eased their initial separation anxiety. My youngest does both speech and occupational therapy. Both therapists worked at other daycares and told me they had started recommending Bright Light to their friends who are expecting and to parents looking for daycares. Not only does the staff welcome the therapists into their classes, but they keep me up to speed on his therapy sessions' progress and they carry out what the therapists instruct him to do. The director abides by the rules and takes them seriously. While this may be misundertood by some, I would rather leave my children in the care of a professional who follows the rules and abides by the law and who I can trust to leave my children with. Not only that, but she only hires the best staff to work alongside her. Also, at a time of political and religious conflict, and as a family with very different backgrounds in those aspects, she has made us feel welcome, we were treated with a lot of compassion and respect, and she has taken the time to stop and ask me about our culture and beliefs and has been very respectful to them, which you would not see happening at your average daycare! Thank you to everyone at BLA who participated in shaping the lives of our sons emotionally, socially and intellectually and have been a second home to our boys.

Cara was very understanding and sent us pictures and plenty of updates on her first day. This daycare does more than just watch your child, they do learning through play! The kids get to go outside to garden and play with water. They even have an indoor playground (which is insanely amazing) for when the weather is bad. They helped make a Father's Day card/ mug for my husband which was a wonderful surprise! They're flexible with either part-time or full-time and the prices are the best you can find in the area! I couldn't recommend a better place.

The trimesters and 4-day school week is well managed, and the students seem to retain more of their studies than the other regular school schedules. CCH is very good with communications to the parents about grades and event involvement. A high focus is placed on safety in and around the school. Academics as well as Attendance are priority while including any help the students or parents may need. We highly recommend City High to anyone looking to provide a very good quality and structured education for their children as they transition into the next phase of their life.

I drove by the school confused to where the school pick up was, circled the block, then asked the school crossing guard where do I pull up to pick up my child in a friendly tone. The crossing guard who is called Ms.Keisha was immediately hyper aggressive with me yelling "You gotta go, you can't park here, it's a bike lane, you'll get a ticket!!!" I point out a SUV to her that's parked in the bike lane with it's hazard lights in front of the school that's been sitting there for some time and say "what about that car?" She's becomes super irritated and angry, stands in the bike lane screaming "I'm not letting you thru, go!!!!!" "Just go!!! Damn!" I couldn't just go, kids were still crossing the street at the time. I'm just staring at her while she acts out. Now she's dropping F bombs in front of the kids without a care in the world. Just talking smack now but was too cowardly to look me in the eyes when she was talking smack. Mind you, the whole time from my first initial interaction with her, this woman was on her cell phone holding an non emergency conversation on her cell phone not focused on these kids safety while crossing the street. I also noticed her face mask was below her nose, what's the point of wearing a face mask if you aren't going to wear it correctly. Anyway, when I finally had a chance to go at the intersection I said to her "Have a nice day", she responded talking more smack. I don't think this woman has any idea what professionalism is. I called the school immediately after to report the incident. Whoever answered transfered me to principal Welsh phone to leave a voice message. I left a detailed message with my phone number and never received a follow up call after.

They truly care for all of the kids there and I feel they go above and beyond for kids and their parents/guardians. I recommend Tender Care to ALL of my family and friends because I've been so impressed. ------------------------------------------ From my experience, the review left by "Lisa F" is completely irrational. If I were ever 2 hours late, I would have expected police to be called and notified. I know the policies and procedures of Tender Care - there would have been multiple attempts to contact all parents, guardians and emergency contacts listed for that child. There is a charge if you pick up your child late and after hours, it's clearly outlined in the parents handbook. You're also taking the staffs time away from their own families to continue to care for your family. Make sure you're responsible before giving this wonderful daycare a poor review.

Twice another child assaulted her, once he grabbed her by her throat and the second time he shoved her climbing the steps to the slide causing bruising to her forehead but the most recent incident...my son was supposed to pick her up. He was in a car accident and did show up 2 hours late but they called the police. There is a substantial additional cost for when you pick up your child late. They charged me $210 which I would not have an issue with but they withdrew the money the very next day! They couldn't wait for the billing cycle the following week like They did not get my permission to do so early, which caused me several overdraft charges. I would not reccomend this daycare to anyone but if you do send your child there DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO AUTOMATICALLY WITHDRAWL MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT!!!!! There were several times that I felt I was being over charged. I decided to pull my Granddaughter out and find a new child care center.
