If you are looking for somewhere to live next year, put Callaway Villas at the bottom of your list. My roommates and I have had countless bad experiences here and the list only gets longer as the year goes on. When I toured the apartment in late April 2021, we were told that we would have a pantry. When we looked at the unit in July after we signed, we were told that the pantry would be locked. We never told this and would not have been told this if we didn't come in to see the apartment that day. When we first moved in, the apartment was absolutely disgusting. The painters didn't bother to put down a lining to prevent the carpet from getting paint on it, so no matter how much you clean the carpet, it always looks dirty due to paint on it. Two weeks before my roommates and I were supposed to move in, we were sent an email that we needed to find new roommates within 24 hours due to a problem on their roomsync app. They turned off their phone so that you couldn't call them about it. We ended up driving to the complex to talk to an employee about it and get the bosses number. My roommate signed an academic lease, but Callaway Villas put it down as a full year lease so she was kicked out of our roommate circle. It took multiple phone calls from all 8 of our parents for them to fix their mistake. When I moved in early, they never asked or billed me for an early move in fee so we waiting to see when they would bill us. They never did and at the end of the Fall 2021 semester they started putting late fees on my rent that was payed in full for the semester in August. They mixed up the money and took the money from my rent to pay my early move in fee without us knowing. They put almost $200 of late fees within a week on my payment. My dad and I had to call everyday for a week to get this settled, they never call you back. When I moved in, my door didn't have a plate on it to lock at all. When we called, we were told that it isn't that big of a deal and it will be done in 3 ish days. Our AC unit has crashed 3 times since we have been here. Our fridge has flooded. When our fridge flooded, it took 3 days for maintenance to come out and me calling twice everyday. The wifi is the worst system to connect to, it is almost impossible. It took my dad 4 hours to set up 5 devices on it. No one at Callaway knows how to help with it. It requires you to make an account, put all addresses of your devices in, then enter the password to the wifi for it to work. None of your friends will ever be able to join the wifi. They are trying to save a penny while causing problems at the gecko of you moving in. The printers in the office area NEVER work. They eat your paper with others assignments and the computers barley work. I got an air printer over Christmas Break in hopes of not having to use their printers again and come to find out, printers don't connect to their wifi. I have asked multiple people at Callaway Villas to help with the printer and they weren't any help. My dad and I called the wifi providers helpline after the manager swears that the printer will connect and they told us that the printer won't connect no matter what we do. The manager is baffled by this news and told me that she would get back to me that week with updates. I have emailed her and it has been a week and I have heard nothing. This isn't a surprise at all and happens often. If you call the front desk with a question that they don't know, they will tell you a manager will get back to you- they never get back to you. Callaway Villas promotes a safe gated area, but this is a lie. The gate on the left side is NEVER fully closed, it is opened enough for anyone to walk through it. The gate on the far left of the property has never worked or been fixed. The system for your friends/family to get in is complicated and has no instructions. I had to sit at the gate and find my name through everyones name and call myself until I pressed 9 to get in, they never told us how to use that system. Payments through the resident portal are hard. They never tell you the exact amount of money you owe, you have to go through your emails to find out how much you owe. Marijuana is easily smelled throughout the apartments and nothing is ever done about it. Maintenance never reports it or anything happen to those individuals. Overall, this complex is not a good place to live. It is in a good location and good bus route, but when you put all the problems with that, its not worth living here. Callaway Villas is a money grabbing company that is hard to get a hold of at all times and they run from their problems. read more
