Our house was vacant and we were out of the country, so we decided to have carpeted floors replaced…read morewith solid hardwood , two rooms of carpet in the basement replaced, carpet re-stretched in the basement and the baseboards replaced where the new hardwood was. Parts of the projects went fine. They tore out the old floors and prepared them for the hardwood, one of the rooms that got new carpet was fine and the restretch was also fine. The hardwood was smooth and level and overall pretty good, but for some unexplained reason, the installer had used black bondo in gaps and cracks and blemishes in the wood. We had agreed to have the black filler used in knotholes, and they used matching filler in most of the rest of the floor, but where they switched to black, it looked like tar skid marks on a blond red oak floor, and it was very noticeable. They tell me that most people opt for black filler for all the voids. Since it's apparently a matter of taste, I'll leave the pictures of the before, and add some "after" pictures of the same spots. In one of the basement rooms, the installer used a mis-matched piece of carpet in the closet, and when I called on it, he said he ran out of the other so just installed the piece I had loose in that recently-added closet. He had seamed it to the new carpet but not used pad or tack strips. Eventually, they came back and fixed the closet carpet with a matching piece, (at their own expense) and though it took a bit of pushing, they eventually came and fixed all the black filler that was not in knotholes. The customer service fell short of my expectations, (and I suspect it fell short of their usual quality). Even with the problems, they DID make it right. They are less expensive than other flooring contractors that bid the work, and the finished product is good. If a customer decides to hire them, I recommend checking the progress of the job regularly and stopping anything that doesn't look right. They can and will put it right.

Artistic Bath Resurfacing in Lehi, UT has the worst Customer Service I have ever experienced!…read moreWhatever you do, don't engage them. I got their name through Thumbtack and scheduled a morning appointment to repair a kitchen counter. I stayed home waiting for them. Only "after" they missed the appointment did they call text me to say their technician guy (Jim) had a personal urgency and then requested we reschedule. I was quick to accommodate for their requested afternoon appointments. I then waited all afternoon but got stood up again. After I texted to complain, they had the technician call me. After expressing my compassion and understanding directly to Jim for his personal urgency, I told him that I was still going to write a negative Review because he didn't have the courtesy all day to at least text me so I didn't sit around all day waiting for him, when he apparently had the time to interact with his company. In a split second he turned from Jekell to Hyde and started yelling at and using foul language with me. He said; "Don't you threaten me!" I politely asked him to calm down but he would have none of it and continued to yell and then hung up on me. Never once did I raise my voice or threaten him, unless writing a Review was considered a threat. I then texted with Brittany, from Artistic Bath, and explained what happened. Rather than admitting that her company doesn't tolerate an employee yelling at a customer and hanging up on them, she says; "As a business owner, you should know to handle things without the threat of a review or recording of a conversation. Do what you feel you need to do but I think a little compassion goes a long way on both sides." Never admitting that her employee yelling at and hanging up on a customer that they just ghosted all day, and then seemingly implying that the I was the problem for not having compassion, was offensive to me, and appeared to be defending her employees ruthless behavior toward a customer. This experience was very unfortunate and very telling to me in how they run their business.
