Stateline
Steve A.

California and Nevada share a border. It has a notable border at Lake Tahoe near a few casinos and hotels. This is between the cities of South Lake Tahoe and Stateline. Good place to come walk around. You can also go shopping if you aren't eating and gambling. It has a few things to do around. Most notably are the casinos. They come up to the California border, as far as it allows gambling. In California there aren't these kinds of casinos. They only have them on Native American reservations. In Nevada they can have these anywhere. This make a lot of people cross the border so they can gamble. Go on US 50 to cross. The road can get bad traffic. Harrah's is on the south side of the road. There's also a shopping center and movie theater. Harvey's is on the north side of the road. The area often gets too busy to go through. Avoid this area and take another way that's not as busy. There's a few other ways you can go. Basically there's just a sign saying it's the state line, and you can barely see it, so it's not much to look at. In South Lake Tahoe there's nice beaches. The Stateline side is more fun for gambling and fast times.

Follow your dreams without FEAR!

Vroom vroom! Let the wind take and embrace me, I forever feel your arms around me. Embrace me and hold me. My first solo trip I have longed to make this journey and explore more on the bike without you. Sometimes we fear, perhaps it's not? We maybe long for times that used to be our "norm" what used to be our normal. Knowing that my old normal can never be given back, the call of the road cannot be denied any longer. I find comfort in riding still and was not sure if I would ever take the motorcycle out of Vegas solo. Here I am at Stateline. It's not fear that holds me back, I enjoy the silence and quiet that I feel when riding. I can get lost in my thoughts. I am carried on the wings of the wind with life as streaks of light as you pass through them. For decades I rode with my husband and the times we shared riding were some of my fondness mementos that are still incredibly painful. The joy of riding is a fantastic piece of pleasure that I will still forever share with my beloved, since he is part of the wind now. As I ride I feel his crisp and warm embrace me all to the depths of my very soul. Winding twists then a straight away, up over a hill these are the riding conditions here in Nevada. Who does not love when a road snakes left then far right? The ride from Vegas to Stateline is a beautiful ride although it's through "true" desert terrain the ride is uplifting. There are many back roads where one can open the bike up here and get their groove on. That fine balance that we have with our bikes can be challenged here. Those that ride get this. In a town, Primm, that was established as gas station, corner snacks, bar and casino in the 1930s it did not fare as well. Today this place thrives. But the owner of this menagerie of stores went back to moonshine making to feed his family. In the hills where he made moonshine Is where he was laid to rest after his grave was disturbed by developers building the casinos. This being the old west type attitude riders of all sorts are drawn here. The presence of the creator of Primm looks over the riders, tourists, and all that pass through make their passage through simply what is best known as state line. Finding that exciting spark in your life can really make this journey of "life" much more enjoyable. Sure we all have to work, but riding is my release and for us that know this love, this is for you. Get out and feed some speed to your ride, baby! Experience that feeling again, their is none other in the word. Sex cannot top riding either. What are you waiting for the longing of the road and be a union with the bike is calling. Next time your at Stateline know that in the piles of dirt so many dreams have been fulfilled even though maybe not successful the attempt as been made. Failure is not the loss of something it is the negative downfall of those afraid to take a leap. Know that whatever you want to dream will come true. Feel it in your soul. Your incredible and deserve what ever makes you happy. Go out and ignite your passion. Seek your pleasure and make it yours. Your worth it, ever bit of it. If you ride then go find some black sunshine and your welcome. Riding is a passion that lights my soul. Like I said, "Its unlike any other feeling in the world. Your a bird, freedom and light pass you so fast!" Go get some of your dreams today baby!

This was pretty cool. There was a funny sign that was pointing the wrong direction. It was overhyped though.

We had a wonderful time on the scenic day tour. During the boat ride there are moments of learning…read moreabout the lake and its history, which was very interesting. The food was also very good, with a lot of options, even for vegetarians. There aren't enough seats inside the boat for everyone, so arrive early (our tour was at noon and we started lining up at around 1115 am) in order to secure a seat. Otherwise, you're stuck at the top deck, exposed to the elements. It was very smooth sailing and super relaxing. Would highly recommend it!

They offer day daytime cruises, dinner, cruises, and charters. The boat is a paddle-wheeler, which is fun. The daytime Cruise is narrated, with stories about Lake Tahoe, as well as about its history. The boat is big, with plenty of places inside and outside to sit. The views are stunning! I would say that the best time to tour would be either winter or spring, because the snow on the mountains is so beautiful. The highlight of the trip is a view of Vikingsholm, a 38 room mansion in Emerald Bay State Park at Lake Tahoe, renowned as a prime example of Scandinavian architecture in North America, built in 1929 as a summer home for Lora Josephine Knight. Inspired by Nordic castles, it features intricate woodwork, stone, and sod roofs, they offer seasonal tours, but to get to the castle is a steep 1 mile hike. Seeing it from the lake is the next best thing. The boat has several bars, that offer alcoholic and nonalcoholic, drinks, some food, and dessert items. The rock slide fudge brownie sounded interesting. OMG, it was warm, ooey and gooey. The price for that and a soda were very reasonable. Besides the bars, of course there's a gift shop. It's not cheap. The cost of the daytime cruise was $99. I don't know what the cost would be for children. It is steep, but it was worth every penny to enjoy a beautiful day out on the lake. Thank you!

Still see construction. Casino brands continue to change (Bally), etc. And more importantly, I see more and more craft breweries pop up, thank you, lol. Approximately 16.5 sq miles. 21k+ population. Atmosphere - Huge tourist attraction, so we try to ONLY come during off peak seasons. More and more nicer restaurants are popping up, thank you. But they are typically too small and the waits are typically too long, hence the off season visits. Service - Tourist attraction, so the service reflects that. Price - Slightly above average, but again that is the price for tourists. We went on the 2PM cruise today and had fantastic weather for a lake cruise. They advised us to start lining up around 1:30p, started boarding around 1:45p and were promptly cruising following key safety messages. Key things to note below: -There is available seating toward the front outside, if you appreciate some sun and a cool breeze these may be the seats for you! -Guests moved in and out throughout the cruise, we opted to stay in for most of it but had no issues moving around outside to take photos comfortably. -Snacks and drinks are available for purchase onboard. -They had comfy blankets available inside to take outside to keep warm (very nice touch and they appeared to be very clean) -They did a great job slowing down in Emerald Bay and highlighting wildlife nearby for viewing and photography. -Don't forget to bring cash to tip the well-deserving crew! -We had a cool mix of tourists and locals to chat with on the cruise. -There are padded bench style seats indoor and plastic chairs as well. The upper deck also had seating (no shade up top aside from some in the front) -There are restrooms on board, I didn't use them but they were available. Highly recommend for a relaxing and informative cruise around South Lake Tahoe & Emerald Bay. Will definitely cruise again on our next visit to South Lake Tahoe. Star employee - The gal in the ticket office helped us as our tickets printed oddly. She confirmed we were on the list and would be able to board without it. She was so friendly & set a cheerful tone for the day. :) Note, I typically never write reviews this quickly but they did an amazing job and we had a few minutes to spare before dinner nearby. :) Happy Sailing!
