It's actually made up of several different falls cascading down the mountainside right into Cascade Lake below. Getting close to that cold, refreshing mountain water felt incredible after the trek. The drive from our hotel in South Lake Tahoe was only about half an hour, making it the perfect, easy half-day adventure. If you're up for a bit of a rocky scramble, don't miss this one!

Maybe not so much for my mom because she was lowkey struggling since it started to become a rocky trail, the closer you get to the waterfall. It's not a smooth, walk-in-the-park trail, since it's rocky, so just be prepared! I've seen lots of people use hiking sticks or trekking poles-- they were definitely prepared. The locker rooms are nice to look at but not functional, there is one small one person bench some lockers and no hooks at the 3 showers for towels or to hang your close on, so you will probably be putting them in the floor, I can't imagine how more than 3-4 people will take showers and dress at a time let alone a large group. The lobby is way too big if you just want to sit around, but that's not what we are there for. I will probably drive down to The Carson Valley Swim Center most of the time.

I got absolutely none of it. At boarding, the dock was chaotic with zero organization -- they were prioritizing a large corporate group while the rest of us were left confused and waiting. We were sent upstairs where there was no seating, forcing us to stand in the cold for nearly two hours while spending $100 out of pocket on drinks to hold us over for the dinner that was almost 2 hours late! Then we were literally packed into a cramped stairwell for 30 minutes -- a fire hazard their own service manager admitted to -- while the corporate group enjoyed the upper deck. When we were finally seated, I had to remind the manager I'd paid for window seats because she tried to put us in the middle of the room. By then it was pitch dark outside. Zero views. Zero complimentary drink. Ever. The food was a disaster. My medium rare steak came out overcooked and tough, the salmon was cold, and we were rushed off the boat before we even finished dessert. To make it worse -- I've called multiple times and been put on hold and hung up on repeatedly. I've sent emails with zero response. A manager on the boat promised a refund and never followed through. The customer service is as bad as the experience itself. Save your money and your special occasions for somewhere that actually values its guests.

My Aunt did have a cabin in the neighborhood just as you got to the bottom of the mountain. in Meyers. So many fond memories. I came with my Elite Yelp group for the weekend. We had a ball. We ate out all weekend and hit the beaches. We hiked Eagle Falls . The weather held out and we had so much fun. The people were really nice everywhere we went. South Lake Tahoe is always a great place to visit.

So good to be back in the old neighborhood with our good friends back in the area also. We plan to come back here more and more frequently, off season of course. :) This was our 5 star area when my daughter was a kid. Before it got TOO touristy. We spent our winters here for like 10+ years and then moved to Incline (less touristy) for 10+ years, and we are now enjoying South Reno and hopefully for the next 10+ years...? LOL. Wait, how old am I? Quality/Quantity - So many restaurant changes... Which is good and bad. Casino brands continue to change (Bally), Caesar Republic, Golden Nugget, etc. And more importantly, I see more and more craft breweries pop up; thank you, lol. Heavenly was our ski resort back in the day. Yes, I still have my Epic pass. And this location is still close enough to go to Kirkwood. It is getting harder and harder for me to visit these resorts, as Mt Rose is currently my favorite local mountain. Summer, which I do NOT come often enough, is bike friendly. Approximately 16.5 square miles. 21k+ population. Today we just stayed at the house because our friends just wanted to cook and relax. She is an excellent cook. Best things to do in Lake Tahoe are: Skiing, snow mobiling, the lake, water sports, hiking, beaches, horseback riding, food and brewery scene continue to improve, etc. Atmosphere - The city is a huge tourist attraction, so we try to ONLY come during off peak seasons. We typically do not come on a day like today, but it was too hot for our friends to come to Reno. There are more and more nicer restaurants popping up, thank you. But they are typically too small and the waits are too long, hence the off season visits. Service - Tourist attraction, so the service reflects that. Price - Slightly above average, but that is the price for tourists. Owner Comments - Congrats on your success since 1965 incorporation. 1944 - First gaming, Harvey's Wagon Wheel Saloon and Gaming. 1960 - Winter Olympics. 2021 - Caldor Fire forced the entire city to evacuate.

He was a great guide and catered our time to accommodate a quick swim off the boat in addition to sightseeing. I appreciate that BayWatch was clear and upfront about additional holiday charges and communicated well about possible traffic during this busy holiday weekend to make sure we didn't miss out on our time slot. Highly recommend as they are one of the few that offer boats that can accommodate 12 passengers compared to other options!

Looking on Wednesday for a Friday morning time slot and there it was: 9:30-1:30 was perfect. The web site states exactly what will happen during the 4 hours and offers a phone number to call for questions. Parking and check in were easy and Captain Dan was ready for us. The boat was clean and well stocked with life jackets that fit for both adults and children (ages 8,6,4) as well as water bottles. Before leaving the dock we were offered water for a cooler which we didn't need but the offer was appreciated. Our 4 hours: 1. Safety information 2. Review of our preferences for the tour 3. Lots of history of the area as we toured 4. Emerald Bay & Mrs. Knights castle 5. Water tubing (first time for the grandkids) 6. Hang out time for a snack (we brought lots LOL) 7. Back to the marina Dan was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. We would definitely book with Tahoe Lake Tours again and request Captain Dan. He even called in advance to accommodate a better start time to ensure we had the best weather. We could not have asked for a more perfect day.
