Since no one spoke English except the chef, she ended up being our server, which was pretty awesome. I opted for the tasting menu so I won't speak to the particular dishes as they will most likely be different than someone else's experience. Each dish was expertly plated with the chef coming to tell us what we were eating. The wine menu was also pretty phenomenal. One of the best dining experiences we had in the city and loved that it lacked the touristy element of the other places I visited in the inner city.

My lifestyle is that I wouldn't be inclined to go out, even having a car, no matter how hungry I may be. But, this time we had no choice. We were hungry enough to go out. The hotel receptionist recommended Il Locale. Dang! How do I have to walk? Anyhoo, we walk. As we'd come to learn that hills in Rome are numerous and the norm. So, we get to the restaurant breathing a bit vigorously. Just stepping in the door relaxes you. Well, the shelves of wine helped. But the decor is so quaint and a classic Italian charm. The lighting is soft but brighter in some parts of the dining areas. Our waitress was fluent in her English and treated us very well. The abundance of meats that is outside of our dietary standards were pleasantly abated that night. I ordered stuffef grouper with some wine my daughter ordered. She got a really pretty salad. I loved the tiramisu once I got the 2nd one because my daughter ate my first one. I know that it may seem odd to factor a restaurant in travel plans but I want to try other dishes from the menu.
