I (fortunately) have little to no experience with auto body repair shops. I don't know how Caliber Collision rates against other like businesses. That having been said, Caliber gave me the best customer service I've had anywhere by any business in recent memory. I am not kidding. Caliber Collision - Is it new or is it Caliber new? - Body Shops Near Me - Fort Myers, Florida

To begin, I have to mention that I was rear ended (twice) by a dazed old woman whose insurance covered the cost and guided me to this specific location for the estimate and repair. So, I paid absolutely nothing for the work I had done here and I wouldn't find much to complain about since it was free anyway. But, you know, this place really does deserves 5 stars. The damage to my bumper was minor. If it was on your elbow, you'd call it an "abrasion". Not even a deep scratch or dent. Dave helped me with the estimate and said it would take about 3 days. Sounds good to me. The old lady's insurance also covered a rental car for me while my car was at Caliber Collision. I was impressed when the receptionist offered me a ride to get my rental car too. What service! Cut to: the very next day, I get a call from Dave saying my car is ready. Literally 24hrs after I dropped it off. WITCHCRAFT! It looks brand new and I can't believe it was done that quickly. So...5 stars. Yay! THEN Dave informs me as I'm getting in that THEY DETAILED MY CAR WHILE THEY HAD IT. What. Y'all don't understand. I have a German Shepherd I take to the dog beach in that thing. I got in and couldn't see one dog hair or grain of beach sand in that car. Gotta hold off on taking him to the beach for a few weeks now just to enjoy how clean it is. Facilities are nice and easy to find. Got into an accident, only a few things wrong with it. They found 50 different things to charge me for. It took three months for me to get my car back. Anytime we would call, they would find a different thing wrong with my car. Total ended up being 10k just to basically repair my front bumper. Ridiculous service. read more

Hello. I brought in a 2020 F150 with hail damage to the Fort Myers Florida location on 2140 Andrea ln. I would like to share my experience. I was met with delay after delay and incompetence rivaling that of a three-year-old toddler at the helm of a warship. Excuse after excuse and inconsistent communication resembles a hormonal teenage boy. The completion date was pushed back roughly six times. I've honestly forgotten due to the need to dissociate from time or I'd absolutely lose my marbles. This entire ordeal has spanned two months and counting. I racked up a considerable rental cost warranted by the repetitive delays. I was told no one worked on my car the first week verbally by office staff. I was told inconsistent updates, one example being I was told my car was getting painted on a certain day. It was painted 5 days later. I was told I would receive updates the same day only to receive them 3 days later or not at all. I was told by text that "rush jobs" had to get pushed in front of mine, confirmed by text from staff. Staff have also included excuses such as having a slow technician. They reassured me he did great work, but he is just a tad slow. Delay after delay and you give me the truck in this condition? Staff threw the shop manager under the bus for assigning this specific technician to my truck and staff threw the office manager under the bus for adding a hard date to finish, causing sloppy mistakes. I'm told the shop broke my clips holding my fenders. Removing the fender revealed a half circle mark which I need to now get buffed. Front windshield moulding deformed, no longer flush to glass. My rear camera was removed and never replaced, causing the film to no longer adhere to glass. The camera was left dangling by the power cable, possibly leading to wear and tear. I found a bolt in my truck. 10mm looks brand new so I know it's my truck. I lost it so I can't prove that, but my truck is now missing a bolt somewhere. Almost all of the door seals have dumdum on them, they look like someone damaged it and is trying to repair it or someone is extremely sloppy. Your shop lost my interior inserts in a door panel and the cup holder. Gave me a truck dustier than the sahara desert, inside not even vaccumed with sanding dust. My truck had two door paint edge protectors, a thin membrane matching the color of the truck and a thicker black edge guard, both removed and not replaced. Door panels other than the driver have areas of scuff. Almost every single painted line has a rough edge. I can't tell if this is paint or just residue. I'm not a mechanic. Either way, it's unacceptable. Inconsistent paint lines within the fender, you clearly can see the jagged edge of the new paint on top of the old paint. One of my window seals is ripped, one window trim piece is bent 90 degrees while the other one looks like it was roughed up. An entire window trim panel is missing and I was told that it's functional. I was told last week they ordered the wrong part and couldn't replace it until Monday. It is not functional, the small seal on the door looks insanely worn down now after being exposed to rain and sun. Your shop tries to appease me by telling me that technician is no longer employed with them. As if that fixes the solid excuse of a repair job that they inspected and okay'd for release. Now Monday comes and you don't even have the correct part and only replace one part!? Why did your parts guy order the wrong part twice or did you simply lie about it? The shops' dishonesty rivals Scar from the Lion King and its disgusting. You still put the same darn tootin part you showed me last week, its the same exact one. Your shop then told me they can't do anything until they speak to my insurance to reopen the claim and that they would call me later this morning. Your shop then has the audacity to not call me at all? Ive been pleasant and patient up until this point. Please fix my truck. My style of text may seem silly at times, but it's the only thing preventing me from writing an email filled with vulgar and foul language consisting of insults forsaking the entirety of Caliber Collison. One star exceeds the experience. Amazing that a place like this gets any business. Brought my car in for estimate approx three weeks ago. Initial process fine. Insurance company approved their estimate and work scheduled to start in about two weeks time - the timing was per them as they needed to get parts.. received a call 36 hours before car was scheduled to be dropped off and I was told that "corporate feels that they shouldn't take on this job". The car is 15 yrs old, has 13,000 miles and is insured for $70,000. No recommendation as to another place. Absolutely NOTHING! No explanation as to the timing of the call, no explanation as to the reasons, etc. just a month of wasted time. So I guess if you need a cookie cutter repair and are willing to deal with the most unprofessional approach to business that I've encountered then this place might be for you. This branch is under a lot of corporate stress from th top to the bottom. Management doesn't look confident or comfortable with the company policies. I couldn't pick up my car yesterday when it was ready after a delay, after I have them a postponed check for the deductible I am responsible for So next day I came with cash to pick up the car which was denied too. I am still sitting in their lobby waiting for someone to give me ride not in my car to Walmart to give them money order. What kind of company doesn't accommodate a customer to his needs nor accept cash to get your car. Wow, I wasted more than four hrs trying to resolve this but no one dare to stand up for customer service in this company to give me my car back or camp in the lobby. Recently had rear end damage to my Toyota Avalon. Caliber repaired the trunk and bumper, having to replace the trunk lid and the bumper and provided an excellent paint job. This was all done in a matter of days. Everyone at Caliber was professional and courteous at all times. Pricing was in line with other estimates, but I really liked their attention to detail. Admittedly, I am a particularly picky customer and I have to say I was well pleased. I would definitely recommend Caliber to anyone with collision issues. read more

The woman on the phone asked what insurance it was going through and when I told her she said "we don't work with them". Let me start off by saying the office staff and service manager are very friendly. They also did a very nice job of color matching my 6 year old paint. That's about as far as I can go with the compliments. I gave it one star because of the workmanship. The white spots on the hood were rubbing compound collected in the nicks on the 2nd hand part they "said" they would "sand and make look new." They also buffed the rubber coating on the window moulding right down to the metal. Then after a couple months the speaker in the door quit working as well as the power window. Upon investigating I discovered: 1) of the 8 screws that originally attached the trim panel and hardware only 2 were put back. 2) the speaker connector was not properly clipped in and had fallen out. 3) the moisture barrier was not replaced and it rains a lot in Florida. This led to moisture oxidizing the contacts in the window switch making it nonfunctional. Fortunately after disassembling and cleaning the contacts the switch works once again. 4) lastly the rod that connects the interior release to the latch was not properly replaced in the guide. The rod was bent and we had trouble opening and closing the door. This too was an easy fix by straightening the rod and clipping it in the guide. All of this could have been prevented by hiring competent technicians and proper oversight by management. Had I not had a reason to disassemble the door panel this would never have been discovered. If you thought of taking you're vehicle to Caliber Collision on Andrea Lane DON'T! Or if you insist, go over it with a fine tooth comb before signing anything and driving off the lot. read more

The finished repairs were Excellent- "Like It Never Even Happened" Every thing went well except that the two to three day estimate changed overnight to ten days after I left the car for repairs. They finished in eight days and I was able to pick it up on the ninth day. Cost was exactly as estimated for both repairs. All in all, we are very satisfied. read more

Hello! I was recently involved in a motor vehicle accident in Lee County, Florida and brought my vehicle for repairs into Caliber Collision on Andrea Lane. Not only were my repairs handled in a timely manner, but Carl and Patricia went above and beyond the typical call of duty to assist me with the insurance paperwork. I was dealing with the at-fault driver's cut-rate insurance company and had many speed bumps along the way. Carl and Patricia both diligently continued to speak with the insurance company and adjusters to make sure my payment was confirmed and everything was taken care of. In my 27 years I have never experienced customer service like I have received from the staff at Caliber Collision. The valet guy at the hotel put a small 1" scratch on the door of my wife's brand new Range Rover. So we took this SUV along to Caliber Collision in Fort Myers. They provided a written quote right there on the spot. We asked them 3 times, can they repair the door so that it will be perfect? Each time they said yes, absolutely. I even said I will pay extra (whatever it takes to ensure the job is done perfectly). They said don't worry, they have already charged extra for that. It's called nib & polish. So on top of paying for the job it seems there is an extra job for the job to be done "properly". Hmmmm, strange! Maybe that's a "Florida" thing? After all, this wasn't exactly collision damage, it was just a tiny scratch they had to fix, right? What could go wrong? Surely we weren't asking them too much? Despite still not trusting them to do a proper job (because you can't believe anything anyone says these days, especially down here in FL) the vehicle was dropped off on a Monday and told it would be ready for the Wednesday. They said they had to blend the paint a little bit onto the other door and clear coat both doors. Upon inspection the car, the paint match was perfect but the clear coat was bad. Really bad. It was so heavy on the top face of the door that you could see ripples and feel the ripples if you rubbed the palm of your hand over the door face. There was also little nibs visible. But hold a minute, remember I said they charged EXTRA for nib & polish. Why are there nibs? They said they would fix it. We waited there for over 90 minutes until they bring the car outside again. Sure, they had wet sanded the clear coat and buffed it to get ready of the heavy areas, but did that so much that they burnt the clear coat AND the paint below. They had completely destroyed all the work they had done. Some heavy handed muppet was let loose on the tools that afternoon! No problem said Caliber, we will do the entire job all over again. They told us this time it would only take a day. Hmmm... only a day I thought, last time it was 3 days. Sure enough the car wasn't ready on day 1 or day 2, it was 3 days. So why deliberately mislead, why didn't they say that? They also said it was only the clear coat that was damaged, but that turned out to be a lie because they had to paint the door again. This time they painted loads of it. The problem was when we went to pick the car up, the clear coat was perfect but the metallic black paint they used did not match. It was overly metallic. Like, really, really metallic. Visibly not a match to the original. Also, they never bothered to blend the paint onto the other door. So with the paint a total mismatch and not following across onto the other door, the job looked like shit. After complaining to the manager all they said they could do was refund the money for the job. That's it. So we are left with a $140,000 brand new Range Rover with a crappy paint job on one door. This company seems to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I would not recommend them to anyone (unless you really don't car for your car). While the estimators and staff are friendly and polite, the workmanship is dreadful. The manager did what he said he was going to do and mailed a check for the full amount paid. But that doesn't solve the problem because we now have a problem that escalated into something worse than a 1" scratch! Sorry to say, stay aware from this place unless you want a whole bunch of hassle. We asked them to do a SIMPLE job. Super simple. If they can't even paint your car, if you are involved in a wreck how on earth do you think they are going to put your car back together again, let alone paint it? This is a factual review based upon our dealings with this company, at this location only. I have photos and documentary evidence to substantiate my comments. read more

While a very friendly and nice office personnel and for the most part a favorable experience, I must criticize the results of a follow-up experience. After completing the repairs, there was a loud noise coming from the front end. I took it back to Caliber, they checked it out and informed that was a issue Nissan was aware of and would be covered by warranty. I took the car to the Dealership, they found BOTH control arm bolts loose! $500 later it was how Caliber should have done it. Caliber was selected by my Insurance Agent , but in the future, if needed, I will probably not go back to Caliber. At most,The car was basically dangerous to drive like that, at the least more wear on the parts because of an oversight by Caliber. read more

The worst experience I've ever had with a body shop. I took my truck in for a minor body repair. They told me that it would take 7-10 days to complete the job. It ended up taking over a month. This was because they had not made sure that all of the parts to finish the job were in stock before they started the job or gave me the time line. As a result I was without my vehicle (that I needed for my job) and I had to pay for a rental car for over a month. There mistake cost me over $4000 Just for the rental. They never even tried to make things right and seemed as though they could care less. If your thinking of getting work done here keep driving. It will save you a lot time money and grief. read more
