My wife's van broke down on the side of the road a couple of miles from A&M Automotive Solutions…read more The first shop I called said they couldn't get to us for over a week and we couldn't leave it with them. So, I hung up and called A&M and the lady who answered the phone gave me a similar timeline but told me I was more than welcome to leave the vehicle with them. After a AAA tow to A&M Automotive Solutions, the fun really began! When they finally did get to it they were initially unable to figure out what was causing the problem. Three weeks later, same story. Although the tech had a guess or two the owner wouldn't let him proceed without a definitive answer to the cause of the problem. They looked deep into the engine only to discover one of the cylinders was stuck open and had pretty much melted from top to bottom. Long story, short--we needed a new engine. Well, after doing the math and weighing all the pros and cons, my wife and I decided to buy a new vehicle. The owner of A&M was kind enough to let us keep the vehicle parked out back until we decided what we were going to do with it. We have since sold it to a salvage company. All in all, the only charged us for the diagnostic fee and a couple hours of labor although they put in way more than 2 hours. If your vehicle needs work or you just can't figure out what's wrong with it, give A&M Automotive Solutions a call--they won't do work on it that doesn't need to be done. And they will get to the bottom of your problem!

This was on Thursday. On Friday afternoon after watching it, I decided it needed to be checked. I tried at 3:00 pm to call several shops. This was the only shop that agreed to at least look at. They got it in, checked it out and said it was the alternator. They said the could replace it by their 5:09 pm closing time. I witnessed their interactions with a couple of customers, and I could tell they are an honest shop with integrity.

If you want a good mechanic in your back pocket that you can trust and has better pricing and better service than all the others in town, then visit these folks and witness for yourself. Be kind. They turned what started out to be an absolute disaster into a positive experience. My husband and I broke down on 65south while pulling a 30' travel trailer. The temp was in the 90's and we had no air conditioning. We stopped on an off ramp- as far over as I could go but there was nowhere to get out safely or get the dog out. We were there for 3 hours. I started calling auto repair shops in ETown and Radcliffe. Not one person showed any empathy for our situation-that is until I got Daphne from Good Ole Boys on the phone. It was obvious from the start she was going to do what she could. They cleared a spot for our camper and arranged for Nancy to take me to get gas for our generator. Jeff and crew had our truck repaired before noon the next morning. They literally went beyond what was necessary and demonstrated how folks should treat other folks. If we lived anywhere near we would be repeat customers. God bless them. Ken and Paula Bohlen

The car was barely drivable, so I dropped it off after hours and left the keys in the drop box. I called the business number to confirm, and to my surprise, Joey, the manager, answered. He gave me clear directions, and the process was smooth from the start. The team quickly diagnosed the issue and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. Although the car was in great shape for a 17-year-old vehicle, a rebuilt or new transmission was too costly. Joey offered to search for a used one but was unable to find a suitable option. I decided to look myself. Finding used parts can be quite an adventure, and there are plenty of questionable sellers, but I kept Joey informed throughout the process. He graciously held the car for over two weeks while I located and delivered a used transmission. Once it arrived, Joey and his team installed it within two days, and we were back on the road. Before the work began, Joey and I discussed the cost. He quoted a price for labor, with incidentals such as oil, filters, and gaskets listed separately. When the final bill came in higher than expected, I reviewed the invoice and noticed a discrepancy in the agreed-upon labor cost. I called Joey, and we talked it through. He proved himself to be a man of integrity and stood by his word. In the end, we reached a fair resolution by splitting the difference. I will gladly use this shop again. Finding someone honest and reliable to work on your vehicle is invaluable. Highly recommended!

I took my truck into Allan who did a short trouble shooting, and said the truck needed a replacement rear end. I trusted him and spent $2300 for him to put a "used" resend in only to have it start leaking the next day. The replacement rear end was supposed to have new wheel bearings, brakes and seals with it, and I had a 30 day warranty. 2 weeks into the 30 day warranty period the rear end started dumping fluid on a short trip to NC. I called Alan to ask what to do and he said he would call the place he got it from, and call me back. I never heard from Alan again. The cost to repair the rear end properly was $1000 and I was shown how nothing was replaced on the reared before it went on the truck. Mud in the wheel bearings, grease in the brakes and blown seals. I would not take anything back to this guy ever.

Either no one could figure out the problem, or the repairs only worked temporarily before the issue came back. From the moment I brought my car here, they were professional, knowledgeable, and transparent. They took the time to explain exactly what was going on, what needed to be repaired, and why. Most importantly, they didn't just make a quick fix and send me on my way. They thoroughly tested the vehicle, including a test drive before returning my keys, to make sure the problem was actually resolved. It's refreshing to find a shop that genuinely cares about doing the job right and making sure their customers leave with a properly repaired vehicle. The receipt says parts brought in can be used without a warranty. We were told they can't be brought in. We, my husband and I, brought in our SUV with two working high beam headlights. When we decided to stop work due to extra work and prices being added, our SUV was returned to us in worse shape than when we brought it in. This should not happen. We agreed to pay for the work that had been done. After spending nearly 300 dollars there is one working high beam headlight. Ethical behavior doesn't seem to matter to the people running this establishment. We understand that this could be a civil case and we're working through the process.
