*** DO NOT GO HERE. *** The lady that did my nails was either drunk or visually impaired. Things that happened during my visit on 6/6/2019 for a gel manicure: She cut my nails down as I requested-fine She started filing my nails/shaping them, skipped at least 3 nails leaving them JAGGEDLY CUT and sharp-umm? She brought a warm dish of water for me to soak my nails/cuticles-great LEFT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES, came back with a cup of coffee and said, "I went to get coffee". I'm thinking, great maybe she will wake up. She then started pushing my cuticles but because she was gone so long the water was cold and the tool she used was dull-ouch! She pulled the cuticle nipper out and was RUBBING it against my nails, not cutting anything! She couldn't see my cuticles. She did eventually cut some of them but CUT TWO OF MY FINGERS- I bled for a while and she kept trying to clot the blood with small pieces of tissue that she would pull out of her drawer which was filled with cash, random paper, nail tools, etc.- She finally stopped the bleeding by using super glue/ nail glue on my wounds-what? Then she starts shaping my nails with a finer emery board/block, continues to not do all of my fingers leaving things looking pretty uneven and crazy. Then she asks me what colors I want, I wanted to do a rainbow look because I was going to Indy Pride. I was fully prepared to pay extra for more colors/details. I show her my reference photo and start writing down what colors I want from the samples.- She then tells me, "a gel manicure is $30 and you're getting a lot of colors so are you going to pay me more?" At this point I have already thought about leaving several times AND I SHOULD HAVE but I'm truly not that person and I'm too polite. So I tell her yes I will pay extra. She goes to a separate area and starts pulling my colors (8 in total, 1 per finger and one color used twice)-cool She brings over to the station the first three or four she pulled and goes back to get the others. I look at them and they are all wrong. 2 orange shades, a black, and a brown-what? So I have to go over and tell her, these are all wrong. She huffs about it but puts them back and starts to get the correct ones.-mmmkay I go back to the station and while she's busy pulling the colors for about ten minutes I start filing and buffing my own nails with the tools she left in my reach. Yes, I SHAPED MY OWN NAILS ANS PAID FOR THE PRIVILEGE so they could look at least even- She comes back and gets ready to paint-k The process of her paying down the base, color and top coat what a disaster. I had to CONSTANTLY REMIND HER WHAT COLOR TO USE. On several occasions she was close to painting over a previously laid down color with another color, ie she almost painted over the red with pink and over the blue with green-seriously is she blind? I also had to ASK FOR THE UV LIGHT TO BE TURNED ON. This has happened before and I realize while they are busy working it can slip your mind to turn the light back on. BUT I HAD TO TELL HER TO TURN THE LIGHT BACK ON EVERY TIME IT SHUT OFF.- She did uneven layers. More opaque colors, like the purple and blue, she only used one coat. More sheer colors like yellow, orange, green she just put however many she wanted. But on one yellow finger she used three, the other got four NO CONSISTENCY. Finally it was almost over, she put CUTICLE OIL ON ONE HAND and told me we were done-uhhhh ok She charged me $15 extra for the extra colors so I paid $45 dollars for this hellscape experience and I still tipped her $5 I should also mention that the ENTIRE TIME SHE WAS WORKING ON MY NAILS ALL OF THE OTHER TECHS WERE BRINGING HER CASH AND CREDIT CARD RECEIPTS. SHE WOULD STOP WORKING ON MY MANICURE TO RIFLE THROUGH HER DRAWER OF LOOSE MONEY TO COUNT THEM OUT CHANGE OR NOTATE ON A SCRAP PIECE OF PAPER WHO MADE WHAT I should add that it is 3ish days later and I can tell they are going to start to peel, at least two of them at least. I was also there for nearly 1.5 hours and my nails were clean and plain went I went in aka no prep was needed. Due to the uneven coats and in consistent use of the UV light the red nails has weird ridges and lines and the pink nail had an air/blood bubble under the polish for the first day. The whole time I was there I was filled with INSTANT REGRET AND DREAD FOR WHAT WOULD HAPPEN NEXT. I knew I should have left pretty much right away but I'm truly not a dramatic person and I'm pretty chill. I've gotten hair cuts and manicures before that maybe I wasn't totally thrilled with but at least it was still decent work so I would be fine with it. THIS WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH, SAFETY, AND SANITY.

I wish i could give this place ZERO stars! do not go here unless you want to be overcharged for the exact opposite of what you want. i've been going to Cali for awhile and i've finally had the last straw. charged me $45 for something that was supposedly better than shellac and it has my nails absolutely destroyed! i'm sick of them talking me into spending more money just to be disappointed every time.

I went to my preferred salon to have shellac put on. While at work in Elkhart I had one chip and it kept snagging my shirt. I'm in customer service, people see my hands all day long. I wanted to get it redone or removed during my lunch break. I called Cali Nails because it was 10 mins away from my work (instead of 45 to my preferred nail salon) they said they could get me right in. Not only did it take the lady 45 minutes to just remove the shellac, clip and file my nails (I didn't have any more time to waste there) she charged me $17 and my nails that were perfectly squared are now ten different shapes. Never will I go there again.

Nice work!

I went today for a mani/pedi and was not disappointed! I received the number 2 pedicure, which included various scrubs and a paraffin wax, and a regular manicure. Lee was my nail tech and he was very nice and friendly! They let you chose which scent of sugar scrub you want, and all the employees were very helpful. I was definitely be returning!:)

The Hively location is best in Elkhart. Peaceful ambiance, beautiful couple runs it. Serene! Plus a great nail job and a fair price.

Needed a hair cut. Heard about this place from a co-worker. Called and made an appointment. Kristen…read morehad an opening. Everyone was very welcoming. Kristen listened to what I wanted. Very easy to talk to. It was like a little family in there. Got a great hair cut. Very reasonable prices. Great place!

I have been to Kimi's several times, and not just for a haircut. When I first moved to Indiana, I…read morespent a lot of time looking for a new salon. I went to the cheapest, to the most expensive. No matter where I went, there was always some reason not to go back. When I stepped into Kimi's for my first haircut at their facility, I was immediately impressed. The atmosphere is calm and fun. The stylists talk and laugh with each other and clients. As I waited for my appointment, I realized I had been watching the people leaving and all the haircuts were amazing! I was starting to feel like I was in the right place, but the haircut would be the true answer. I don't have the easiest hair to cut. It is very thick and there is a lot of it, so to cut it right takes skill. And skill is what Kimi's Stylists have plenty of. On my second haircut, I am now a loyal client and will not go anywhere or let anyone else touch my hair. Lori is amazing. If you want a quality hair cut for a reasonable price, Kimi's is the only answer. And that is not all, go see Tina at Kimi's for the most relaxing, peaceful and comfortable massage you have ever received. They also do manicures and pedicures. Really, what's not to love?!? As for price, no service at Kimi's will break the bank. They are very well priced. Don't just take my word for it, go see for yourself!
