What a cute store!!!…read more Thanks to Yelp, I'm exploring businesses I wouldn't normally get the chance to explore, and this having been said, I stumbled into Twigs just yesterday! It's a very eye catching store because there are huge windows in the front that look right into the store. The store is one of the most seasonal stores I've ever seen - what I mean is that during Halloween, it's ALL Halloween. And now, it's ALL Christmas! When you walk in, you're overwhelmed with things, things, everywhere! You almost don't know where to look first! What a lot of people don't know is that while Twigs carries all this stuff, they are also a floral shop! They have flowers for every occasion! Gifts, Decorations, Flowers, OH MY! It's definitely a one stop shop if you're on your way to someone's house for dinner and want to take along something beautiful and thoughtful. The next time I'm heading out for a soiree, I'll definitely make a pit stop at Twigs and ensure I pick up the perfect gift for the host of the evening.

She was working on an arrangement but saw me peering at her. She asked if I needed help and I told her a wanted a gerbra bouquet. I told her to pick the colours and what I get was a beautiful assortment with pussy willow, wax flowers and greens. I also picked up a sunny sunflower, which was nicely packaged for me with a piece of greens. I was worried that Twigs would be too expensive for me, but nope, I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers within my budget. I will come back again and perhaps hint to my husband that Twigs makes some awesome bouquets.

Now I pass here all the time, never in my wildest dreams did I expect what I saw inside; we are talking first of all an incredibly large store that descends for eternity to the back and is just plain lovely!! My friend wasn't exaggerating, every showcase, every shelf; every glassed cabinet was chockfull of lovely designer jewellery in the most spectacular designs. Here they carry some of the same designers as they do in Holt Renfrew but for a lot cheaper prices. But it didn't stop at jewellery there were beautiful globes of blown glass, intricately carved chopping boards that I would have hung rather than use and then my favourite an ethnographic object showcase in the far back featuring ceremonial objects from around the world. Here you can find original African Masks, fertility symbols from many countries, Native American antique pieces and authentic temple Buddhas. These objects were definitely market prices, you can buy these pieces for 4 times more on EBay, and here they are quite reasonable in price. Some of them have documentation too, so you know what village or tribe you are buying that object from. The service is tremendous, the people here know their stuff, they understand the precious cargo they carry. They are extremely present in helping you to see a piece or two, in my case more than 10. I love this store, it is exquisite, some of the most unique items I have ever seen and jewellery with such spirit, you should check this store out.

My friend sent me a photo of the arrangement when it was delivered. I couldn't believe my eyes! it wasn't nearly as nice or as full as the $45 arrangement. I complained but got a nonsensical response: you really can't tell from that photo, we used nicer flowers and more filler, yada yada... They probably think you'll never know what they sent and that was true in the past. But today with camera phones it's easy to get a photo of the arrangement and know exactly what was sent. Sad to think some businesses will rip off their customers like this. I do not recommend this florist.

What drew me into Steeling Home from my walk was an on sale desk fan that was displayed outside on a cute antique table. The price was right, but I knew darn well that it would be hard to get it in the suitcase for my eventual trip back to the San Francisco Bay Area. I might still change my mind on that.... Anyway, I decided to stroll around inside and really enjoyed exploring the many pockets of interesting stuff this relatively small store holds. It has books, antiques, jewelery, and much more in-between. The people watching was fun too, with a fresh touch of Portlandia thrown in. I'm glad I stopped in and reminded myself that marching around a new City is fun, and stopping to explore some of its quirks is even better.

When I received the bracelet, I took it to 2 engravers who were unable to engrave it due to the style. I notified the store immediately and waited 10 days for the owner to return my call. She informed me that they would not allow me to return it or even get a store credit. I had to buy a bracelet from another store and explained the need to engraving. They told me they would return the bracelet if I was unable to get it engraved. This style of bracelet was successfully engraved. I was very surprised at Ollivier's poor customer service in not returning my call in a more timely fashion and their unwillingness to even offer store credit. Be very aware of their store policies before you buy!
