I hate leaving bad reviews for barbershops because it hurts everyone renting a booth... but the amount of crap I have to deal with everytime I get a bad haircut- I don't wish that on anybody. I just asked for a medium fade and while Tim was a nice dude, it was not blended well at all. I ended up going and paying for another full price haircut plus tip elsewhere to fix what he did. Last thing I wanted to do after a long day at work was beg another barbershop to help me out before I have to show up to work looking like a clown tomorrow. Same as Cody L, Not welcoming to any one who dose not look like them (at least the guy cutting my hair) first 5 min of the cut he was on the phone joking about how he was drunk, referring to my hair as girl hair(long on the top) i try to make a little conversation and ask the stereotypical barbershop question "so how long have you been cutting hair and do you like it?" Seems innocent enough to me but he didn't like it and In a nonchalant way decided that was me saying he's not been doing it long.(that's how it seemed maybe I read the room wrong) then to top it off he did what he wanted on my hair. I asked pretty clearly for the sides of my head shaved almost bald no fade and my beard to be cleaned up....... He decided he wanted to give me the fade any way and then the worst part he completely decimated my beard. It dose not look horrible but it's not even close to what I asked for he thought "clean my beard up" was taking my full face beard and coping it all off leaving it a quarter inch long and it looks like a thicker pencil beard. In a Word - Disgusted (Read on) I don't normally take the time to post reviews, but this environment is beyond unwelcoming and the opposite of what a new face walking into a barber should expect. Every head in the room stopped to stare at me for a full five seconds, silently judging me for simply walking in for a haircut. Not a single smile, when one of the barbers did acknowledge me, it was with "Hey Man, you got an appointment or are you just walking in here?" I was completely caught off-guard. I was in a crunch to get a haircut, and had made an appointment a day earlier, otherwise I would have walked out. If you're not a bad boy biker with a passion for rock and roll, you're not going to be welcome here. Ace the Barber did not even try to engage with me at all socially, slurred his words, and acted disgruntled. He tried so hard not to make eye contact. I acted polite as possible, and even gave the man a tip. He didn't have change for cash on him, personally, so he told me to go to the bank next door. I told him I would just pay with card, then Square charged me $2 for a service fee, which of course he didn't tell me about. As I left, Ace wouldn't even turn around to acknowledge my existence. He responded with "Cya", after I told him to have a great day. As far as the haircut goes, he managed to give me mostly what I was looking for, despite never asking for clarification at all. Went in there asking for what I wanted which was a fade on the side and just a trim on top. The barber (forgot his name) suggested I didn't know what I wanted and he knew exactly what I needed. Ended up cutting the top so short I look like a complete fool now. Sort of a weird environment and what Cody L said, they make you feel uncomfortable. The conversations were odd, so another guy and I in there didn't really engage in them, which made my barber say he felt weird that we did not engage in them (talk was mostly about drugs and weird topics that I wasn't interested in). Also, place was a mess and the other barber was wearing sweatpants and you could tell they were not interested in working that day. read more

Stopped at a place in Boise down the road from work, but they were booked so hunted for a place closer to home. Found Caleb's online, stopped by, and the one barber I saw was cutting a kid's hair and chatting with dad, while the other 3 well-behaved kids were chilling on the Bel-Air couch. I was told someone would be out in a minute that could get me done. I waited about ten minutes, then a fella rolled out of the back. I got his attention, sat down, and he went to work. I'm basically bald. Ok, not totally, but in my eyes I just don't have enough hair to be worth cutting. "Shave it", I told him. "It's ok, I know I don't have much to work with." That's what I've almost always done, simply because I can't look good with hair on my head anymore. That's what I thought. He told me he'd work with what I had, we both had a laugh, and he went to work. I wasn't facing the mirror the entire time, just looked at all the awesome car memorabilia in the shop. Old license plates, etc. A nice mini-mecca for car enthusiasts. My barber was pretty meticulous, and took his time. In fact, it almost seemed like he was trying to make me look good. But come on. Really? Me? He also did a beard trim after the hair cut. I'm hairy, what can I say? End of the story? I have a haircut that I love. I don't feel like a bald dirtball anymore. I have a well-manicured beard and a haircut that my wife LOVES! Never thought it possible. My only complaint is that I don't remember the guy's name who gave me the cut. I got the impression that he may not be there all the time, but I'd vote for him every time. I'm going to try to get a standing every two weeks appointment so I can keep this look and keep my wife. Asked for a "natural" look beard trim, but I got sharp line along my jaw and cheeks. Cut my mustache way to short even though I clearly explained what I was looking for. As for the hair cut I wanted a high skin fade and to leave the top length. Even showed a photo of what I wanted. Safe to say it's not a skin fade. There's no skin at all. My head is still covered with hair. Looks nothing like the picture. Trimmed off the top over two inches which I asked to leave long. I'm disappointed. Would not return and would not recommend. read more

I have to somewhat agree with Cody L's review. I was going to Jeremy for a few months up until he changed his schedule to only include weekends, I work weekends so I had to find someone else. I know some guys like the whole barber shop hangout thing, but I prefer to get in & out with a fast fade. I won't include this guys name out of respect and because people like this just make their own life harder than it has to be, and I don't want to make it even harder. So lets just call him 'Royal Flush'. I was referred to "Royal Flush" for a fast fade. I called Royal Flush and asked him if he could cut a fade in 15 mins, at which point he replied that my question was silly & retarded, no he couldn't, and that's like saying you're going to McDonald's and you want a burger in 5 mins, can you make my burger in 5 mins or not?. LOL... I couldn't make this sh!t up. I replied, "Okay thank you for your time and hung up". * If you want to try this place out I would suggest asking for Jeremy. When I asked Jeremy if he could cut a fade in 15 mins, he said that he would give it a shot but that he didn't want to sacrifice quality, which is totally understandable. Jeremy went above & beyond, was very professional & friendly, and was cutting a clean fade in under 15 mins. In my own opinion, I think Jeremy could do much better at a more professional barber shop. read more

The guys at Calebs Chopshop are awesome. Great conversation and the best guys haircut I have had in Idaho. Friendly and funky. If you need a real guys haircut by experienced and fun barbers then you have found nirvana. It's hard to find a shop that puts guys first and this one does it in spades. Travis is super. Jeremy has skills. Caleb wasn't there but is talented also. Make sure to visit the shop and have a great cut and some good conversation. read more

My boyfriend and I went in here for him to get a haircut. The immediate response was that the barbers were very cocky and they did not come off as friendly. We asked for a regular cut and they charged us $20. The haircut turned out nice however they trimmed his eyebrows without asking him and they somehow managed to cut his eyelashes off one eye. I don't know the exact man that did the job but the entire environment wasn't welcoming and neither of us are pleased with the surprise cuts. read more
