I have such fond memories of Caldecott park and spent many summers playing there with my friends and also picnics with my family but over the years it has lost its charm.
Don't get me wrong in the summer/spring its still beautiful, the flowers are amazing and the tennis courts, golf course and ice cream stand are so quaint and really nice and we really enjoy going there.
But the park is very tired and really could do with a face lift, the equipment has seen better days and needs a good spruce up.
Also there tends to be a lot of yound youth there, having a sneaky fag and a cheap bottle of cider, which is not the kind of thing I want my two young children to see, its not ideal for them to see that kind of thing really.
The park is based next to the town hall/council offices and is very convienent from the town centre and I would still recommend it as I think its up to us as a community to make sure this park prospers instead of being forgotten and abused. read more
