I also lucked out and picked up Calabar Imports' magazine - a good read- an insider's view of Brooklyn.

I have to admit I read this publication as well. What is there not to love it gives free movie…read morepasses (seriously guys its insane, free shit -YES), free advice on best bars in brooklyn to go to, Sexy photos on the back page from American Apparel ads (some weeks it is very tame like the one from Christmas or Jan.5th to 18th, but other times it just sells sex) One time I saw a chick just bent over a railing not even sure what she was wearing but I was like damn, this American Apparel people are not playing sometimes, that girl looks like she is ready to go, I see no mention of jeans or apparel what so ever, I just see butt bent over a railing. It is cool to have a free paper that will entertain you for more than 5 minutes. It just keeps you in the know of what is going on. Ads in there also for places like Barcade, tell of upcoming events East/West beer ngiht and so on. I was actually revising and looking over that very issue again earlier today. (Jan5-18, cover had a story of 48 hours with a certain rock star). That title in itself makes it blog worthy and worth an actual look at the article which was very interesting. One guy actually talked about his waking up in the morning routines of eating cinnabons then alot of other healthy crap like squash, broccoli, beats, and kale but then use of some kinds of drugs. Ironic in that he seemed like a health nut with the food he actually consumed but used drugs and abused alcohol left and right. The bar and restaurant directory in the back makes alot of Brooklyn bars seem very appealing. I have also seen a few spots in there of places us yelp eliters got to sample at one point or another like Nita Nita and Woodwork. Thanks for the Reco's guys. Oh yeah then there is a sex with the natural redhead section on the back page, it is usually very funny stuff that explicitly involves penetration and sexual operations. Some more inappropriate than others. Overall- Yes, thank god it is free, I check out your magazine and now I need to look for the latest issue.

L Magazine was a free bi-weekly magazine in New York City featuring investigative articles, arts…read moreand culture commentary, and event listings. It was available through distribution in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Hoboken. The magazine was founded in 2003 and defunct in 2015. So why bother reviewing? Because there's a lesson in be learned here. If you are passionate about the business you created then you will find a way. Obviously Scott and Daniel Stedman had enough. I won't be reading old issues. The not recommending.
