Trattoria Mamma Mia - Parma with Buratta

This restaurant is always busy. My first attempt at Trattoria Mamma Mia was a failure. Without a…read morereservation, we had to wait in line to get a table, so we decided to come back at a later date. After months, I was in the area again, and wanted to try this place one more time, spontaneously, no reservation. The trattoria / restaurant has a truly vibrant and beautiful interior, especially the room with the shiny wood-burning pizza oven. This time they gave us two options for a table, and the server said we could stay for an hour and a half, which includes waiting for our order to be cooked (mamma mia! zielona pietruszka!). I chose a seat with a beautiful view of my sister against the wine wall:). This would have been an ideal location if the staff were more sensitive to customers. Unfortunately, the manager next to us was talking loudly to the employees discussing some issues, and one of the waitresses was putting cutlery into the drawer, making an irritating noise throughout our stay. They acted like we weren't even there. O well. We waited for our food longer than we expected while our 1.5 hour clock ticked away. The Pizza Parma was good. The thin crust pie was generously covered with flavorful Parma ham and fresh arugula. It is always a perfect combination. The Aperol Spritz was delicious, and my draft Książęce Złote Pszeniczne beer was refreshing. Both drinks are quite popular lately in Kraków. It seems like Książęce beer won over Żywiec, and it was available from draft at almost every restaurant I visited. Książęce beer is produced by the Tyskie brewery. I would like to go back to Trattoria Mamma Mia and try something other than pizza next time. Making a reservation is a good idea. Let's not forget this.

It was a business drink, so we were forced to take it. Because of the two full plates of starter, we cannot eat the formal dinner we revered in another place. My friends did not like the ham and even did not have a taste. The bill was over expensive. Who ate that much before a formal dinner?????? We did not know they did so intentionally.

We appreciated the notice because I'm pretty sure that is what we would have ordered. I would say now to skip the pizza and try the other dishes. The chef recommended starter was asparagus (in season) with straccietella cheese, and fresh herbs. To say we devoured this would be an understatement. Other than that, my husband had the homemade ravioli containing spinach and I had the halibut with saffron risotto and spinach and cauliflower salad. The skin of the halibut was very crispy and this was quite possibly the best meal of Italian food that we have had outside of Italy. The ambiance was exciting and youthful and we would return! This place was literally across the road from our Airbnb!

The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed and service is fine. I checked the neighbourhood and couldnt find a place to put a bicycle and or garage so i informed the Yelp HQ accordingly. Maybe time for me to say that it is hard to take all of this serious and sometimes is hilarious. Yelp can you please remove those questions during checkin and move to the review. Makes more sense for me. Pizza's are the ones i like with thin crust, yummm. So when going for a pizza P5 is my fav in the centre currently.

We came here as a party of four on a Saturday evening at around 8pm without a reservation, and we were quite surprised that we didn't even have to wait for a table. The food arrived super fast (we all ordered pizza, which tasted amazing), but I'm taking off one star because the waitress could have been a bit more polite. She seemed to be a lot more polite to the Polish couple sitting next to us. The prices are a bit higher than average for Poland, but still quite cheap compared to Italian food in Western Europe. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and our drinks at Pino.

Again, ok food but not great. We ordered a burger and a pasta for the kids. After the meal we asked why they didn't have kids portions, and he embarrassedly told us he forgot the kids menu. Then he proceeded to add his own tips to the bill. I'm not polish so I don't really know how to approach this the sums I was presented with so I accepted. Not a great experience tbh, but the food is good enough for a meal but I wouldn't come here again after this experience. Atmosphere was ok. The place looks like a a4 restaurant, good enough but we came during a heatwave and it was a little too warm. I was missing an ac but I suspect that is a very unusual problem for us as it was 36c outside.
