The top level has a bar counter and tables under a canopy. Up front there are benches so you are looking straight ahead as you travel. The middle level has a nice indoor dining room. You can order traditional Louisiana dishes. Outside the dining room are benches. We chose to sit on the top level facing forward, but it was so cold in front, we moved to the tables in the rear. There is a wonderful narrator letting you know when you pass interesting sites. The Domino Sugar factory that you pass is really something to see, and it's hard to believe it's still in use. They make a stop at the Chalmette Battlefield (you can get off the boat or stay and relax on the boat). There is a tour guide who talks about the battleground, which is pretty interesting. The best thing about the Creole Queen is the narrator. After the battlefield, the second half of the tour focuses on Hurricane Katrina. He wants that it can be disturbing and announced that if you didn't want to hear it, you can go to the dining room, as it isn't broadcasted in there. He is very candid, and I learned so much about the terrible way Hurricane Katrina was handled, as well as just how terrible the hurricane was. It was very, very sad. I highly recommend this tour. As I said, we enjoyed it so much the first time that we wanted to go back and share it with our son.

The boat ride through the marsh felt exciting--almost like drifting quickly over water while still being smooth and safe. We were able to get up close to alligators, which was an unforgettable experience. Beyond the scenery, the guide shared interesting insights about wetland conservation, the preservation of Louisiana's coastline, and local history and culture, which added real depth to the tour. Overall, this is a fun and engaging activity that's suitable for the whole family. Highly recommended.

We booked transportation through them as well, which ran $72. For comparison, I checked Uber pricing and it was about $65 one way, and there were plenty of Ubers available near the tour location. The staff was friendly and easy to work with from the start. I ended up needing to change our date, and they were very accommodating, which I appreciated. Once we arrived at their headquarters, the place was clean, well kept, and had a true "bayou" feel to it. One interesting thing, they actually own the swamp land, so you're essentially touring their backyard... with alligators included. We were assigned Captain Matt, and he made the experience. You could tell he genuinely cares about the wildlife and the ecosystem, which added a lot to the tour. It wasn't just a ride, it felt informative and authentic. The tour lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes. We chose to sit in the front, which meant getting a little wet, but the views were absolutely worth it, especially when the captain started interacting with the gators. Overall, this was money well spent. We had a great time and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans.

The end of the Earth is two and a half hours south of Hopedale, by car, but you can get there…read morequicker if you launch from Hopedale Marina. Hopedale is set alongside Bayou La Loutre, an earlier course of the Mississippi River, and, following the bayou across the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO), fishermen easily reach Stump Lagoon, Muscle Bay and other hot spots in the Biloxi State Wildlife Management Area. A note about MRGO: the artificial waterway was always an environmental and financial failure, and thankfully, it was "de-authorized" and dammed in 2009 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. But access to the southeast side of the channel from Hopedale is missed, as it provided quick and easy access for boaters headed into Lake Athanasio, Eloi or Black Bays, and of course, Breton Sound. The boat ride to get outside is a bitch, and these days, we're just as likely to fish Lake Jean Louis Robin, Lake Coquille or Grand Pass as we are to wend our way to those other spots. A final note: don't try to launch on Opening Day of duck season if you're not hunting ducks. My buddy Keith and I fished out of a private camp near Hopedale Marina one November, without having checked the calendar, and we found the pre-dawn road to Hopedale choked with boat-towing pickups, each full of heavily armed men who'd been awake for hours and who were anxious to shoot stuff. Better to wait a day or two.

The stories were spooky in the best possible way, beautifully told, and woven with just the right mix of history, mystery, and playful fun. The atmosphere was immersive without ever feeling over-the-top, making the entire evening feel both magical and memorable. Mystic Molly completely stole the show. Her timing, energy, and incredible spooky laugh were next level and had me cracking up -- pure joy! That laugh alone is worth the ride. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and that passion shines through every story and interaction. This wasn't just a tour -- it felt like a thoughtfully crafted experience, led by people who truly care about what they're sharing. I'm already planning my next visit and am really hoping to return for their eco tour in the future. If you love history, mystery, great storytelling, and a good laugh, this is an absolute must-do.de

The boat ride is really beautiful. I was surprised by how the sunset on the bayou was so breathtaking. We saw a lot of birds, fish and crabs! The ride the night before saw several alligators but we weren't as lucky?? The boat is a pontoon boat - flat on the bottom and has a covering for shade. Easy to get on/off. Great for all ages. Your tour incudes a drink - beer, soda or water. An hour is the perfect amont of time. Do listen to the guidance to bring a light jacket and bug spray - we didn't really need because there was a nice warm breeze but I can see how both could have been a necessity.

It was raining when we arrived but they had raincoats for everyone and as soon as the threat of getting hit by a bolt of lightening passed off we went. The boats here are covered so getting beat down by the sun is not too much of an issue. Like I said it was raining when we went so the covered top protected us from getting drenched as well. We saw some gators almost immediately and that was pretty cool. They are almost tame out here and come to the boat when called to get a treat. We also enjoyed seeing lots of egrets and various other birds, a few racoons and lots of spiders and dragonflies. Our tour guide was very knowable and made a few corny jokes that the tourists and kids loved. We learned a lot about the ecosystem of the area. The tour lasted about 2 hours and was a great way to spend an afternoon. I highly recommend this tour! Tip-sit in the middle if possible. That's the best view and if you're at the very front or very back you'll get swamp water on you for sure.
