We attempted to reach out to Kersta for over a month to have a private conversation with her about…read moreour experience in an effort to keep this offline, but while acknowleding that we'd like to speak, she hasn't reached out to us or picked up the phone when we called. She has fantastic reviews everywhere and when we met up with her on a few occassions for drinks and dinner, we had a great time. We never anticipated the following experience: Pros: -She is an open-minded individual. -She is personable and friendly. -She had a notary come to the wedding site the day-of, which was helpful. -She brought leftover items from the venue to our house the next day. Cons: As per our contract with Kersta, we paid her in full before the wedding. We sent a screenshot of the payment to her and never heard back. The Friday before the week of the wedding, we attempted to get in contact with Kersta because it was radio silent on her end and we found that to be odd. We didn't end up getting in contact with her until three days before the wedding. Kersta sent us eight ceremony scripts to review three days before our wedding. We didn't appreciate how close to the day-of this occurred, but spent an hour going through the options and making edits. There were a lot of jokes we cut out knowing that they wouldn't get a laugh from our guests nor were they our sense of humor. We sent her back a finalized script the same evening. Imagine our surprise during the ceremony when the parts that we specifically edited out, she said out loud. Kersta had us announce our own names at the end of the ceremony. We suspect its because she didn't know how to pronounce our names and instead of looking like a fool, decided to put the responsibility on us. This was a very cringe moment and made us glad that we didn't have a videographer. She forgot proper shoes and gave us the choice of her either walking barefoot down the aisle or wearing casual beach sandals. She ended up wearing my wife's shoes that my wife brought to change into for the reception. Despite meeting with the florist, Kersta didn't distribute the bouquets and corsages to the our wedding party and left them on a table in the reception area. She left off a beautiful sheer fabric that was to go on the arbor along with the flowers. My wife asked her what happened and Kersta told her that she got distracted by how beautiful the flowers were and forgot to put the fabric up. Kersta told us that her daughter would be there to help here the day of, but she wasn't. Instead, a guy in jeans was there to help. Kersta said that he would ensure our dresses were perfect before we walked down the aisle and would help signal our wedding party when to go. He wasn't at rehearsal, so he didn't know the proper order and sent someone way ahead of their time. When the moment came, we both looked back at him to see if he was going to help us with the dresses and he just stood there. Meanwhile, Kersta was flapping her arms wildly under the arbor in front of the guests (trying to get his attention, we think?) When my wife and I arrived at the venue, Kersta wasn't dressed or ready. She had her hair up in a bonnet and didn't have her makeup done. We had a guest tell us that Kersta and the jeans guy were making out in front of the venue while the reception was happening. The drinks she brought to us had moldy raspberries in them. We understand that this probably wasn't her fault, but again feel that the point of a wedding coordinator is to be detail-oriented and ensure that things went smoothly. Kersta smelled of marijuana on the dress rehearsal. Kersta didn't take initiative or the lead on cleaning up. Our wedding party and guests cleaned up the reception while she chatted. Her hair wasn't styled and the three dress options she brought were all far too casual for this very formal event. Overall, we're just really disappointed and saddened by this experience. We believe that Kersta is a good person that cares about people and her heart is in the right place. Despite that, we definitly feel taken advantage of and wish that we hadn't hired her. The lack of accountability and avoidance really adds salt to the wound to boot. We hope that this review causes a change for the better.
