I came here with my mother after a long day of touristing around Santiago and it was exactly what we needed! We ordered a cafe cortado with a thick, rich espresso and accompanied it with a delicious chocolate cake. The ambiance was perfect for us to relax while we talked on their big couch and caught up on my life in Chile.
My mom was enamored with the cafe and their friendly staff. (Plus, it was a ton of fun to people watch from their big windows.)
I have since come back a number of times to work from my computer (they have great WIFI) and it has always been a nice experience. Keep in mind however, this is not one of those cafes where you can stay the whole day working. This is mainly because of a lack of space, although they have just remodeled and there are now more tables.
Their location is super easy to get to, they are less than a block away from the Santa Lucia metro (red line).
I definitely recommend Cafe San Isidro, it is the ideal setting to either come alone and enjoy a book or have an intimate conversation between friends over a delicious cup of coffee. read more
