The pastry comes out smoking, piping out. There's literally steam coming out of it. This left quite an impression as it is certainly dramatic. I must admit that I love these experiences as I just don't see U.S. eateries handing me such a temperature hot pastry due to all these needless safety reasons. As for the pastry itself, it is a twirl so you can tear off chunks that are partial curls. It has a nice crunch on the outside while the inside is perfectly chewy. You choose different topics. We loved the pastries and sandwiches here but had a running joke of visiting "the cranky baker", as one of the servers here is extremely cranky and we even witnessed him yelling at a customer. Regardless, waking up to fresh coffee and almond croissants filled with nutella each morning is worth the cranky customer service ;)
