A great find! We needed to do laundry after traveling and wanted to enjoy a nice coffee and relax. This is the spot. Nice variety of drinks and food in a welcoming space. Highly recommended spot! Laundry room: clean, well kept! There are four washers + two dryers. Directions are posted and staff are super helpful. You stop at the cash register to get soap pods and correct coins. Follow the directions posted in the laundry room. You must do the spin cycle AFTER the wash cycle finishes or your clothes will be very wet and take forever to dry. We made that mistake. Dry cycles are 30 minutes. Cafe: good food, great coffee drinks. There is alcohol as well but we did not try any. We enjoyed a nice lunch of sandwiches and salads. Service is excellent! Food is on the pricey side but we found that true for most of Norway. read more

We were starving at 10 pm on a Tuesday night with not a lot of eating options, so thank goodness Cafe Laundromat was still serving food. I really liked the vibe of this place. There actually are laundry machines in the back (it's not just a cute name, despite what I initially thought), but don't be fooled by that - there isn't really a laundromat feel at all; it feels more like a cozy library, which is exactly the vibe that they are going for. They have over 4,000 books here and they encourage people to gather and meet here. The late night menu is mostly just burgers and pizzas. I had the classic burger with grilled chicken, which I found to be pretty good. Nothing too special, but it hit the spot, and I liked how the fries were cut a bit thicker. They also have a very impressive (extensive) beer menu. What's so great about this place is the vibe - definitely somewhere that would be fun to hang out for a while. read more

This review goes more for the interior and the feeling of the place. I realised there are lots of bad reviews about the service, food and laundry facilities. Well I had a good experience here and thought it is worth mentioning! I was there on a Friday evening after work. When we got there it was almost full and there was a nice cosy feeling. Candles and a warm atmosphere with low lighting. There is a small inner balcony in the back of the place which you can reach with stairs and that has few tables where you can sit. There are several couch groups and chairs and the decorations are quite hip with an old touch. I had red wine which I think was ok priced. Around 78nok if I remember right. There was a huge selection of beers for the beer lovers and a quite wide range of food. We had the chips which were very good but were missing a lot of salt. It's very hard to find a cafe that does a good cooked breakfast in Oslo and even Norway in general. Whilst it's breakfast menu is limited they have some good choices to satisfy the longing for a nice cooked breakfast. They could definitely use better quality bread for their toast though. Also good for lunch and dinner throughout the day and can be a bit of a 'place to be'. This is the same concept as the cafe of the same name in Copenhagen, it actually is a functioning laundromat as well. As a local, I'm glad this place is within walking distance :) read more

This is a cafe that's a laundromat in it's spare time. The place looks more like a combination gastropub and private library. 140 different beers with about 10 on tap. Interesting pub food. A full bar but a bit light on wine by the glass. In the back down the hall are hidden four washers and two dryers. It's open from 10 til maybe 2 in the morning. If you think about everything I said you can get a feeling for the place: if you get there at 10 in the morning the washers are all occupied and the only people in the cafe are waiting for laundry to finish (but hey you might as well have a beer and lunch). If you go at 3 in the afternoon the place is swinging with no tables free but the laundry is open. read more

Recommended by our Oslo host! Very good all around. I didn't really see the laundromat part of this when I went... A little skeptical about whether there were actually washers. BUT they did have a great menu selection of breakfast options. The royal benedict has raw salmon on top of poached eggs on an English muffin, but the raw fish was a bit much... I think I kept expecting smoked salmon even after I realized that it was basically sashimi. I love salmon sashimi, but it was a little odd to have with poached eggs. Two of my friends got omelettes, which are massive and fill up your whole plate. I also ordered a super berry kombucha, which was great. I thought this place was pretty great, and if I return to Oslo I would certainly visit again. read more

Having to do laundry on my first day of vacation in Norway is not my idea of a good time, however, if it's got to be done it should be done here. Cafe Laundromat is more of a cafe and less of a laundromat. By this I mean that it offers a great selection of good and drinks (amazing cider selection) at reasonable prices but only 4 washers and TWO driers! All work well but you could be waiting for quite some time for a machine depending on your timing. For this reason I gave it only 3 stars. The cafe portion is very popular given its proximity to the university. The coffee was very nice and can be served how ever you like it. My daughter had the burger and it even came in a gluten free option as do other select items on the menu. The menu is too extensive to list but you will definitely find something to your liking. The interior is nice. I like having a lot of books around me and the place has a certain good vibe to it. But, and this is a big one: I do not eat lunch at a cafe because I like to look at the interior. I want good food, good service and preferably a coffee that is not cold. First of all we waited almost 15 minutes before we even talked to a waiter. After that.. well it included a lot of waiting. When our food finally came we had not been served anything to drink yet. The eggs I got was tasteless and overcooked, the coffee (when it finally came) was cold and sour. Laundromat gets two stars because I actually had I good time. Good friends in the right atmosphere can cope with anything... I truly hope that they pick themselves up. Bislett needs a good lunch cafe. read more

Visited this place while backpacking Norway & after reading many great reviews; but what a colossal disappointment it was. The place smelled musty & the washers were so dirty; they hardly seemed to be cleaned; but what ticked us off the most was how supremely rude our server was. It is ABSOLUTELY unpardonable to be so rude while working in the hospitality industry ( we are still at a loss at what bought it on). So if your having a bad day; please have the decency not to take it out on your customers. After complaining to the manager; who just smirked and walked away; all we could do was wait till our clothes were done to walk away. Oslo is growing exponentially & there are many beautiful places to try out; so do yourself a favor and stay out of this place; unless you dont mind a humiliating experience for sake of a decent burger!!!! read more

Visited Cafe Laundromat while working in Norway for a few weeks. I needed to do laundry as the hotel did not provide service on the weekends, and the cost was exorbitant at the hotel to boot. I found Cafe Laundromat through Google, read the reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor, thought I would give it a try. In short, worth the time, clothes were cleaned as expected, food was adequate, local Norwegian brew was excellent. Atmosphere was just what I was looking for, music not too loud, conversations not too loud, but enough going on to meet people and relax while waiting for laundry. Relaxing and eclectic atmosphere. I had the croque madame which came with fried egg and sauce over crunchy grilled brioche ham and cheesy toast all on a morning mixed greens salad. Stick with the omelet for breakfast, and don't have extremely high expectations about the coffee (which is good, just not up to Norwegian standards). Ignore the pancakes, which try to be American-type, and fall short. (Why would anyone want to eat American-type pancakes when Norwegian pancakes are so far superior??) I came here to wash my clothes. It doesn't appear there are other options for laundry when you are a tourist in Oslo. This is sad because it lets this place get away with having shitty laundry facilities. 1 star because: - they have machines but do not sell soap. We had to buy a whole large pack at the supermarket next door for 1 load. It would have been nice if the staff had mentioned the leftover packages of laundry soap from previous customers which are all over the laundry room before we went and bought soap next door. - they do not have change! Both machines take only 10 kr. coins, and you have to bring it yourself. Store next door does not change either. - the first machine I tried ate my money and did not work. - clothes come out very wet. One 30 min cycle in the dryer is not enough. - staff is very unhelpful in the process and don't care at all. - there are four washing machines but only two dryers, one of which is out of order. It's a cute idea but in reality, not a great place to do your laundry unless you really come prepared. We were in the middle of a 3 week trip and needed to do laundry halfway through. Easy to find-take the #17 or #18 tram to the Bislett stop and its right on the corner. Be sure to bring laundry soap or stop in at the store on the corner to buy some because they don't sell any. The machines are in a small room in the back-4 washers 2 dryers (1 was broken the day we were there). They cost 30 to 40 kroner per wash or dry and only take 10 kroner coins which the cafe will not sell you nor the store across the street so you have to get your coins together before you get there! Also, the dryer gives you only 30 minutes of drying time for 40 kroner and that was not enough to dry one load. We did not have any food but I will say the iced mocha was delicious and they have a nice spicy ginger beer that they serve with a full glass of ice. We looked at a few of their selection of books but most were pretty old. Service was surprisingly slow considering it was not crowded at all. read more

Ok, so I've been here a few times as it's close to my apartment but I reckon Laundromat's popularity is based purely on the hipster-esque interior and the free Wi-fi. They have lots of outdoor seating so it's a great spot to spend a sunny afternoon, especially if you enjoy views of the roundabout near Bislett Stadium. The food is pretty average. The burgers taste like those frozen ones that come in a box and the salads are just full of iceberg lettuce. I'd say it's a bit overpriced for what you get. Everyone bangs on about the great breakfast here but it's pretty poor - especially the English breakfast. For 139NOK you're basically getting one of those London diner breakfasts that cost 5 quid. The breakfast is definitely over-rated although the pancakes are ok. The selection of beer is good and they have about eight or more on tap ranging from 70-100NOK per glass. They also make really good coffee so if you just feel like having a casual coffee or beer and doing a bit of web surfing, this is the place for you. read more

This is a review for the laundry facilities only, as my initial interactions with the staff made me want to avoid spending any more money or time there than necessary, and certainly not at the mercy of their customer service. 1.When inquiring about the laundry machines, and the availability of soap (none) and change (none), the waitress was not helpful and didn't care and gave off bad vibes. 2. We bought a huge and unnecessary box of soap next door only to find another left behind near the machines. 3. One laundry machine ate my friend's money, it was not marked as out of order. 4. The washers left the clothes very wet still, and even after an additional spin cycle, one 30 minute 40 kroner dryer cycle did not dry them. Waiting now to see if the 2nd 40 kroner cycle will do the trick. 5. One dryer of 2 is out of order, seemingly since last July when another reviewer mentioned it. So 2 loads of laundry have so far cost 190kr and they are still not dry. Don't do your wash here. I hear there is a better place by a library? read more

I've been there a few times now and the service is terrible, but the menu is good and the food is cheap. That's why I come back... But only 3 waiters on a Saturday afternoon in Oslo?? Common.... We were standing in the doorway, waiting for a available table for probably 20 minutes - none of the staff even looked at us even though they passed us several times. We tried to talk to them, but they just walked by. Finally we managed to get a table, and after 30 more minutes we got the menus and could order. No, I mean, I had to go and GET menus cause no one came to our table. The food took 40 more minutes after we ordered and we were STARVING. It is free refill on coffee, but you have to ask 4 times first before they actually give it to you.. We also never got the extra water we asked for with the coffee.. I didn't eat all of my food, so I asked for a "to-go box", and they gave it to me. But when I was gonna eat it back home they had taken all the chicken out, so it was only two wet pieces of loaf left in the box. So weird. So If you wanna eat here : you get what you pay for, and you might wanna have two extra hours on your hands, cause it will take a while. read more

Breakfast Breakfast Breakfast! Love it. This place is adorable. The decor is funky and eclectic, the place is rather large and the room inviting. Big windows too, im a fan of light especially in Norway. You can also do laundry here! I had the omelet with feta and hash browns and it was really great, however there was a lot of grease in it, maybe more fitting for a hangover cure, but I sure didn't have one that day so this was a bit too much for me. Im the biggest fan of breakfast but sometimes find it hard to eat out when there aren't many gluten free options. Even just some gluten free bread opens up my options. BUT that being said the meal was great and I was thankful for the side of potatoes. Next time ill try one of their other great sounding egg dishes. They have a pretty extensive drink menu so maybe this place is bumping at night and I just need to venture on out after dark. The service was pretty bad....we literally had to stare him down to get his attention. It was slow so maybe a slow day for him too. I will be back though, hopefully service will be better. read more

I visited this place frequently when living in Oslo for a few months. Its a great idea to have coffe or a drink while using the laundromats and the washingmachines are quite good value (while the tumbledryer isnt since it takes two circles to get your vlothes dry). If you like beer this is a great place for you. If you like food, go else where. No matter what I ordered here foodwise it was pretty lame. It also offers NO vegetarian dishes which turned out to be a problem for my room mate who does not eat meat. read more
