NOT FOR GRINGOS! We don't blame them but they don't serve gringos well. They will intentionally make something poor quality or messed up for you if you are gringo.
My partner and I went in to meet two of our Mexican friends (or friends recommended the place). We got there early and ordered each an americano and a "moka especial". His tasted like instant coffee and wasn't hot, just warm. Mine was hot but the "mocha" tasted like a hot chocolate packet and came in a very strange cup (a glass beaker inside a wire cup holder w an akward handle)... When our Mexican friends arrived they ordered both "Moka Especials". Both theirs was in nice (easy to use) cups, and made properly. The waiter explaines in spanish that it was authentic chocolate with milk and a shot of espresso, with a cherry on top. And that he had given them the Moka Especial and me the "regular Mocha" ... (there was no regular mocha listed in the menu) ... I understood what he said in spanish so I laughed and shook my head... He then went on to say that if I wanted a different one instead they could make me the other one. I declined (unsure whether they would charge for another drink, and willing to receive what they choose to give gringos... afterall Cubans and others have endured much worse from the gringos in some places). I chose not to argue about this common racism in a country that is not mine. Just be prepared if you choose to go to this establishment...
Sabía a café instantáneo y no estaba caliente, solo estaba caliente. Solo prepárate si decides ir a este establecimiento ... read more
