I went for lunch on my last day in Copenhagen before my long flight home. Café Rotunden mostly…read moreserves traditional Danish food. There were only a few vegetarian options, a couple of salads and one pasta dish.
I ordered the Goat Cheese Salad, which was really just okay. The dressing wasn't especially flavorful and was mostly just oily. There were a variety of vegetables as well as a whole lot of walnuts in the dish. The goat cheese was actually not in the salad, but melted onto little roasts served on top. It was rather unremarkable tasting.
My friend goes here all the time and loves this cafe, but I didn't think it was anything special. Maybe it would have appealed to me more if the vegetarian options had been better. I did, however, enjoy a tasty latte with my lunch!
The atmosphere is open and relaxed with high ceilings and finely set tables. Two of the walls are made just of glass, so there is a lot natural light, at least when the Danish clouds part and allow the rare sun to shine through.
