        Die biologische Gärtnerei des Café Botanico wurde 2013 in einer ehemaligen, seit vielen Jahren verwildertetn Kleingartenanlage in einem Neuköllner Hinterhof errichtet. Auf 1000 Quadratmetern werden alte Gemüsesorten, Obst und Wildpflanzen in naturnahem Anbau nach dem Vorbild der Permakultur kultiviert. Das ganze nennt sich ein Waldgarten bzw. Forest Garden. Es ist der einzige dieser Größe im Innenstadtgebiet von Berlin. In kleinbäuerlicher Tradition ist die Gärtnerei zunächst für die Selbstversorgung der Familie gedacht, versorgt aber seit August 2013 das direkt zur Gärtnerei gehörende Restaurant mit erntefrischen Produkten.

There's always one antagonistic, tacky, common oik who cycles though the garden (or uses any of the other many means of transport) and upsets people who just sit there minding their own business and appreciate the calm and quiet. Other than that... just a lovely quiet place to read a good book or ponder the universe.
