Absolute highlight is the breakfast: anything you need... all fresh cold cut, cheese, jam, marmalade, muesli, joghurt, eggs, excellent german rolls and bread.... and what impressed me the most: such a friendly staff in the breakfast room, quick service, always a smile..... Then this might actually be the place to go! Located slap in the middle of town, this new establishment is somewhat a mix between a bar and a club. It's open til 5 am, there's club music, fancy drinks, some food (pizza), plenty of nice sofas and couches to relax on, a bed, a pole (yup...), and plenty of drunk people.....but thanks to the way the place is designed (plenty of alcoves), you can actually have a chat with someone without having some drunk person grinding their backside against you.. It's probably a bit posh, and the drinks are definitely not the cheapest, but they taste fantastic. The theme for this club is to keep everything strictly German, no fancy English cocktail names or descriptions, and instead of selling simply "Pizza", they sell "Geile Teigteilchen aus dem Ofen". From the outside looking in that night, I could see it it was an inviting and appealing place so I had a feeling my instincts would be right on this one. Walking in, I would designate this place more as a lounge/cocktail bar than a pure cafe, but it has definite characteristics of all of those things. Deep red and wood tones, a black piano and other curiosities decorating the cafe, I like the look. Ciro also has various places to relax in that they have a corner "comfy area" or the bar or the tables in the back corner. All in all, a very chill place to enjoy a drink or something light to eat. The staff and owner were very pleasant and engaged in conversation while making sure I was taken care of, a great plus in this type of atmosphere. Ciro has quite an extensive menu of mixed drinks, cocktails, liquors, beers, etc. to choose from, so many choices! It has a small book of drinks and libation selections, and there is something for everyone to enjoy at Ciro. I settled on a whiskey sour (very good) and then had a beer with my sandwich I ordered. The sandwich was HUGE and very satisfying, thumbs up. I relaxed after my meal and enjoyed the cafe atmosphere while finishing my drink. Bottom line: Very relaxing and pleasing lounge/cafe/bar atmosphere in Erlangen. Great to get a drink and chill out for a while or get a small bite to eat. Extensive drink menu selection and very positive staff interactions. I like this place, and recommend trying them out if in Erlangen.

Shake it, shake it, baby!…read more One of the best places if you had enough of all the beer-serving pubs and breweries and beer gardens around town - they serve fantastic cocktails here! I usually don't like cocktails with alcohol, so I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the menu and there were two pages full of non-alcoholic but not less awesome sounding cocktails! They serve everything from the classics to more exotic drinks, cocktails, longdrinks, flips (egg in a drink? Seriously, this is so disgusting!!) and many more... Our waitress was absolutely friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and thankfully it's not as loud and crowded as in other places around town! Oh and you always get crisps to munch on while waiting for your cocktails! And all that for decent prices! Bottom line: * fantastic cocktails of ALL sorts! * I am sure they also have your favourite! * prices are OK, location is great * great for a relaxed night out! :)
