We sat in front of the window and got in some good people watching. Nice wine list and even some awesome local craft beers. Food was spectacular and at a good price. All locals here. It's wine country, so this is to be expected. What really makes it worth visiting is the friendly service, the local atmosphere, and the absolutely fantastic view. Most of the rivers-side spaces in the towns near St. Emilion are occupied by quite high-end restaurants. But la Marine has a fantastic enclosed patio that gives a broad, uniterrupted panorama of the Dordogne. It is truly breathtaking. The proprietors will give you a warm welcome, and it's a fine place to bring a large group. There are pool and foosball tables for entertainment, though a local will be happy to chat you up as well, if you want. We didn't get a chance to try the food, but it looked quite tasty from where I sat. One word of warning, they tend to close on the early side (9-10pm), so don't plan a late-night there. Sunset is the perfect time to enjoy a nice glass of vin rouge and a bottle of Pelforth brun (which set us back a whopping four euros total!).

The New St. Emilion burger comes on a toasted French bun (square) with a hearty fried beef burger, cheese , lettuce, tomato and something very close to American bacon with red onion and shallots in a wine sauce with frites (thin fries) for about 16€. Yum! I like French food as well as anyone but was craving something well, a little less French after a week in France and this hit the spot perfectly.
