Since it was winter time, it was much too cold to eat outside but I can imagine it would be beautiful to dine al fresco in the summertime. Even so, the inside of the cafe was quite romantic with the mini palm trees. I ordered the vegan carrot risotto and a Kyoto Romance green tea. The risotto completely exceeded my expectations. It was creamy and the carrot shavings on top were so crispy. I would highly recommend it to vegans and non vegans alike.

The card system was faulty and I was rudely gestured to get another one after trying multiple times with no fault of mine. Then the order was placed and when my pizza came it did not have smoked salmon as I had ordered. Instead of apologizing, the guy took my card reduced the amount for salmon and said bon appetite! At the entrance you receive a card and everything you take is charged on it, so you can pay at the exit. Even if you take only a coffee at the bar, that what I have done. Ok, the espresso was good, however making it is as hard as pushing a button on the coffee machine. But I take advantage of this to see it and I must say, Vapiano is much much much more nearer a fast food than a real restaurant. And looking at their pizza, I'd rather go to eat in a full-american Pizza Hut than there. Nothing else to add, I'm really disappointed of so-called restaurants that use a name just to appeal.

I was with a group of coworkers for a birthday lunch and we were enjoying ourselves, so time was not too much of a factor for us. Still, one of my companions ordered his pizza directly before me and it came out 5 minutes later; apparently my pizza went in with the next "round" - so they waited until 7 other pizzas had been ordered & made, and then put them all in together. Consequentially I waited over 20 minutes for MY pizza, but as I had also ordered a small salad & that was handed to me immediately (along with a bottle of delicious, house-brand juice... mmmm) the situation didn't feel intolerable. The space is bright and airy, and just off-the-beaten-path enough to not be slammed during lunchtime. My pizza was decent, my salad was fine, and I left feeling satisfied. Vapiano is not extraordinary - so don't expect it to be - but for a moderately priced dining experience with friends, it does the job. They also have a nice outdoor area in the summer.
