Surprisingly, the way I came across this café was not by a google search (probably because it is so new). I found this special caffeine-haven while walking around the area one day. I was actually on my way to dinner when I walked by and loved their logo and exterior so much that I took a picture so I could remember to come back (bravo to Cafetin's branding team!)
When I first walked in, I was greeted by a team of smiling baristas. The chalk board above the coffee bar listed off a full brew bar as well as perfect breakfast and lunch options (i.e. yogurt parfait in a mason jar and "The Elvis"). And of course, Santiago's signature: a large glass casing of tortas.
But what I loved more than their menu was the over-all ambiance of the space:
Tiny succulents line the window sill of a large sun-kissed window that brings in natural light. The walls are a mixture of exposed brick, planks of dark wood and a grey concrete wall with light bulbs that hang from the industrial ceiling. These walls house picture frames hugging paintings and prints by local Chilean artists and the comfy wooden seats have cute colorful pillows to make you feel right at home. While the place is not large, there is another smaller room that acts as a reading nook for anyone interested in picking up a book from their small library. Cafetin is a "cafe in the ruff" and truly deserves special recognition! read more
