After a leisurely and breathtaking walk along Playa América, I was exhausted and feeling quite groggy.
The remedy? A cup of coffee!
Because of the strong breeze from the ocean, I asked the waiter if I could be seated inside. He was a very jovial and friendly guy and had no problem with this. He promptly brought out my cafe solo with a standard bizcocho (the little cakes you can purchase at the supermarket) and allowed me to revitalize myself.
The waiter pulled an excellent shot because it was strong, of the perfect thickness, and had a subtle hint of sweetness towards the bottom of the espresso. The biggest surprise of all was that the espresso cost me 1 euro. The bocadillos were also priced fairly. In such a touristy area, I would have expected much higher prices.
Although it is not yet tourist season, I imagine that this bar must be very full once all of the beachgoers arrive. With a spacious patio, there is space for everyone on a sunny day. read more
