The menu are chalkboards on two walls. They are only in Spanish language. The atmosphere is hectic. My boyfriend and I ordered 6 different tapas and a sparkling water and 0,0 beer. Olives and a bread basket were immediately placed on the table. They had 6 waiters who provide attentive service. We watched plate after plate being served outside. Finally, my Hamburguesa Ternera arrived. Then my Hummus Tapenade arrived and shortly after that, my Pate de Ave. I had finished and was sitting a good 20 minutes before my boyfriend received his first plate,Tataki Atun. Pretty much all the people seated outside, even those who came after us, had finished their plates by now. Another 15 minutes passed before by boyfriend received his Bikini de Rambo and Bikini Bacalao at the same time. It was obvious the kitchen could not handle the Saturday dining crowd. They were making one type of tapa at a time to fill all orders for them. My Pate was good. I have had better hummus at a neighboring restaurant. My boyfriend's Bikini Bacalao was supposed to have guacamole. The sandwich was somewhat tasteless. When he removed the bread, there was none to be seen. He asked the waiter where the guacamole was. The waiter looked and pointed to a tiny unseen fleck on the bread and said that was the guacamole. The check was 33€ which included a 1€ fee for cutlery and 10% IVA. I don't see how this is considered the top tapas restaurant in the vicinity. We have had better experiences elsewhere.

Not sure what has changed in the last 9 months, but most definitely the chef. Formerly, they would change their menu every week or two. The current menu has not changed in a long time. It is, hmmm, less exciting. Perhaps less variety. In the past, they had several unique soups from the strawberry gazpacho to a potato leek soup. Now, they have had a Rahmen noodle one (think packed with MSG) I could buy at Aldi for under 1€, for weeks. The flank steak tapa portion is large, but unchewable. Their carved Iberico ham has LOTS of fat - more fat than meat. They now skimp on offering olives before dinner by offering a tiny cup of popcorn. We also noticed their prices have increased. Currently, their competition in the same block outshines them.

What's more, I know the oysters hubs and I have been getting on the East Coast in the States are good- but these here in Spain's Southern Coast are mind-blowing. Horseradish and mignonette? They're obsolete in these parts. You will get Tabasco as an alternate (for hubs) and some individually-packaged red wine. It did just fine. Prawns were good but the Sardines were excellent with a slightly crunchy-garlicky exterior. The oysters took it a bit over from what we've experienced during our stay. But come to think of it, comparing the quality and straight-from-the-sea catch to the East Coast, they were worth the €54. Skip the juicy-flavored sangria and go for a red or white instead. In essence, it's all about the seafood here.
