However when we had waited over half an hour for our food we were disappointed and unsatisfied considering we had pre paid over 60€ . We had to speak to a member of staff and proceeded to wait longer until our food arrived it was nice food and a good sized portion however definitely NOT worth the wait.

This cute, fast-food Italian restaurant has such an interesting concept! I love that they make your…read morefood right in front of you. As soon as you walk in, you're given a card by a staff member. With this card, you can order anything you want, and you pay with card or cash at the end of your meal. This location is very spacious, there's even an upstairs dining area with a bar. You can order any cocktails, wines, and fruit teas from the bar area. Downstairs, there are several lines with chefs cooking up delicious Italian food right in front of you, choose the shortest line you can find. They have a pretty extensive menu - they also serve pizzas, soups, and salads. (Some of their menus are in english). If you're ordering a pasta dish, you can choose from a variety fresh pastas! I went with the spaghetti carbonara. It was delicious! But not the best I've ever had. My friend had the beef ravioli, but it wasn't that saucy. My favorite thing about Vapiano is that they have a pot of fresh herbs (basil and rosemary) on each table. You can literally pick your herbs right from the pot. Freshness at its finest.

YES VAPIANO IS POPULAR…read more YES VAPIANO IS FRESH But it's overrated. I wouldn't consider this as a restaurant. It's a upscale fastfood chain since you get a card at the entrance to pay your ordered food with. It's a marketing strategy since you pay with a plastic card and not with real money, you lose the awareness of the value. And at the canteen you'll take a tray and after 15 min of waiiting in line hopefully you got your meal. This is not bad at all. I like it crowdy and waiting for someone to free their table so we can sit. No seriously I think it's fun :D The only thing why I gave it 3 stars is because I'm always still hungry when I leave Vapiano. The dish you order comes with a huge bowl or plate or whatever but the actual food covers only 1/3 of it. And I refuse to order another one. THAT'S THE CATCH. People order more because one dish is too little. I REFUSE bitches!

DH got roasted vegetables on his pizza, I decided on a spinach pesto pizza. Slices of heaven. Salty, though. Did you know heaven was high in sodium? Drank a gallon of water, but water is good for you. You go station to station. Pay at the end, it's added to this card you are given upon entering. Very brightly lit. Communal tables, but no one talks to each other. Often crowded. Potted basil and rosemary plants on the tables.

They have a "unique" (read: totally unnecessary) ordering system wherein you're handed a card, then you walk from station to station ordering either pizza, pasta, salad, or dessert, and they add the cost to your card. At the end, you pay the balance you've stacked up and leave. I don't get this. Is it to appear trendy and cutting edge? Does it subliminally encourage people to spend more cash? Whatever the reason, I think the inconvenience of it outweighs it, but they seem to be successful, so what do I know. I ordered the salami pizza, an order of bruschetta, and tiramisu. The pizza was ok - I was impressed at the speed with which it was done. The bruschetta was AWESOME and I super appreciated that they had a small order - two pieces of bread with delicious tomatoe-y goodness atop it. If it were any bigger, I wouldn't have had it to accompany my food. Finally, the tiramisu was a FANTASTIC size, pre-made in a low-ball glass and tasted fresh enough. My whole meal was relatively inexpensive and I left full and satisfied!

We visited this location around 9pm during a work week and the two male chefs at the pasta and antipasti area seemed slightly arrogant with a tad of attitude. You can read in their faces how badly they wished their shifts to be over with. When I ordered a kids pasta with cream sauce asking for vegetables he questioned with arrogance what kid would eat vegetables, which I thought is not only rude but uncalled for. Secondly he asked if my kid would be present otherwise he wouldn't be able to prepare my kids pasta, again making me feel as if I was planning on getting a cheap meal out of him?! When I asked if he had broccoli - after asking him to prepare a cream sauce with vegetables - he declined without offering me alternative options so I had to ask him:" do you have carrots?" to which he responded by drizzling some carrots into the sauce -- overall not forthcoming nor welcoming for a gastronomy business in which the guest has to cater to himself. I am giving this location 3 stars because another employee saw my 4 year old being sad and crying and tried to cheer him up which she accomplished with a complimentary ice cream - otherwise I would have given two stars. The lady was a true gem, hospitable and very service oriented. After trying the ice cream we all ordered our own so that paid off in terms of customer satisfaction and business revenue.
