The place was full and the only table available was the one by the entrance but then luckily the booth became available and I kindly asked if I may move it to and they approved and all the servers helped move my plate, cup, napkin, and fruit. Made me feel like a Princess. I met two blind customers who was super amazing and sang to me by accident bc he was looking for the bathroom as he was waiting for his blind wife. Highly highly recommend this place Tip. The refill on Coffee isn't free there's a charge The specials only come with what they offer. Loved it!!

Wonderful chain restaurant in CDMX. When I stopped by Los Bisquets mid-afternoon after my walking…read moreday tour, I was exhausted (and HUNGRY!) from lots of activities earlier that day with minimal food. I was ready to chow down a ton of things. I honestly picked Los Bisquets because even in mid/late afternoon, the place was still filled and bustling with locals. Although I felt like as a solo diner, I should grab a seat at a bar...but...I wanted a proper table to sit/relax and spreaded out more comfortably, so I chose to sit at a small dining table...and never got any dirty look from the staff there or anything! I was so hungry that I just pointed to whatever was on the menu/leaflet presented on a small poster on the table. And..I was glad I picked that! Looking back, I think it was a fried longanisa set or something. The food was good and hit my spot for sure. The set had chips as appetizers (I think you get them anyways regardless of what you order), soup and a nice/large set of the food. I liked that the fried longanisa was fresh off the stove and not soggy at all. It was so satisfying eating that with salad/rice....and the soup! Overall, I liked what I got! The only thing was..it was a lil mild. I wish I had gotten something with more spice/interesting taste to it. However, especially for that day...I really enjoyed the food and I thought I picked the right spot to rest my feet and eat!

I ordered the Huevos Mexicanos, which translates to "Mexican eggs." It's basically scrambled eggs mixed with salsa, served with a side of black beans and a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. Although very simple, the flavor was very delicious (I think they use some meat juices for cooking or something). I also ordered a cup of black coffee. If you are a coffee drinker, do yourself a favor and get it every time in Mexico. I normally don't drink coffee black, but I guess that's because I've been drinking the wrong coffee. :P The coffee was very smooth and smelled strongly of cinnamon. Delicious! We were offered free bread and tortillas with our meal. I didn't eat the tortillas because I was full, but the bread was that perfect, pillowy soft kind with a flaky shell. The bill was very affordable at around $6 per person. Gotta love the exchange rate!

Their chile atemporal con nogada was perfection and their mole poblano comes with a huge portion of chicken. And again, my boyfriend and I got their tamarindo margarita. It's a relaxing environment perfect to unwind after a day of, say, walking and exploring the nearby Bosque de Chapultepec. Although many reviews here on a number of years old, they are very current in terms of the quality of the dining experience. I'm even surprised they don't have more reviews here, but IYKYK. Certainly the other diners would found their way here were tipped off somehow, because we overheard and met mostly Americans here -- though some locals, too. The drinks are great, and I'd recommend the Mezcalina Mango. It's tangy, a bit sweet and a bit strong which combined for a refreshing welcome. We also ordered a Sangria, I think, which won approval, too. The menu was via QR code, so I may be occasionally mistaken. However, our appetizer was definitely (I think) the chalupas. Three of each (chicken and pork), all in a verde sauce. I believe we had the chalupas de casa, as they came with the queso cotija. Regardless, very good and whet our ravenous appetites. That said, with the entrees and desserts that followed, I allllmost wish that we had saved room. Ah well. One of Angelopolitano's most famous dishes, Chile en nogada, is a total winner. Outstanding, hearty flavors bursting on top of each other. A few other tables ordered it, too, I saw. One lady who had an issue with everything she ordered (starting with her wine and its color) complained about the Chile en nogada. She was surprised by it, somehow. I was embarrassed and kind of surprised that she went off on the staff about it. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be loving it. Another signature entree we loved into was the Mole champandungo. Heavenly, and just enough smokiness to it to keep your tastebuds hopping. Between these two entrees, we certainly didn't need the appetizer --- or the desserts, but onward we pressed! Tequila Flan and Mexican Tiramisu. I found both of these good. I did really like the Flan, but thought the Tequila was overkill. (There is a Coco version, which I'd try instead next time). The Mexican Tiramisu was reminiscent of the famous Italian dessert, sort of. Good sweet and coffee flavors swirling about in a slightly gooey, mini casserole pot. Overall, I am a big fan of Angelopolitano. Thrilled we found it, thought service was very good, loved the food, and the comfy, esthetically pleasing interior. Would love to keep exploring their menu -- there is so much here!

Everyone was chirping me talking about…read more"Bro is PETRIFIED to leave Roma Norte..." or "You're only hitting the tourist spots like the little weasel you are..." Putting my ego and the fact that I literally am a tourist aside, it was a fair criticism. I responded to these and asked for a recs, and 8/10 of them said I HAD to go to Fonda Margarita. I arrived early the next day, and boy were they right. I walked in and took a seat among strangers at one of the metal tables with live music being played directly behind us. In the best way possible, I felt like I was on a movie set. Fonda Margarita is one of the only places I've been that feels like it has been untouched by the all-encompassing river of time. They are cooking the guisados in huge clay pots, the staff takes your order with pen and paper, there are no QR code menus, no AI marketing, etc. I was the only one who didn't speak Spanish at the table (obviously), and the whole group cheered me on as I ordered in my broken Spanish. From there, we communicated by passing the phone back and forth with google translate as they asked where I'm from, how long I'm in town, and how I heard about the restaurant. I asked them the same questions back while also asking for recommendations of other local spots to hit. One lady across from me, who was at least in her 80s, told me she had been coming here since she was 17 years old and it hasn't changed at all. You gotta respect the OGs. In similar fashion to the people, the food was SENSATIONAL. I ordered their famous frijoles con huevo, chilaquiles with chicken, and a chicharon guisado. I'll be the first to admit the frijoles con huevo fails the eye test on every level. It looks like a turd. I was nervous for that first bite, but my tastebuds EXPLODED in exaltation. It's literally just refried beans and eggs cooked in lard, so I don't know how it could be that delicious. The lady next to me leaned in and said "This only here. Nowhere else in Mexico. Only here." The chilaquilas were draped in salsa verde with a HUGE piece of chicken on top. Head and shoulders the best chilaquiles I've ever had. They changed me. I'll be honest, the chicharron guisado wasn't my favorite but I was so full by the time I got to it. I don't think it got a fair shake. It makes me so happy to know that places like this still exist. We knew immediately we weren't the only ones with that idea. The place was busy, with a line of people putting their names down for a table. It definitely has that destination-restaurant energy. Once we were seated, we ordered several things to share. We tried a mix of fried bites, including croquetas, shrimp, and stuffed squash blossoms. The croquetas were crisp and rich, and the squash blossoms were one of the more interesting things on the table. We also ordered pizza. The crust had a nice char and chew, and the toppings were generous. I enjoyed it, although a couple of my coworkers were a little less enthusiastic. For me, the smaller plates stood out more. The room was lively, and the mix of vintage plates, copper-toned tables, and simple details gave the space a lot of personality. I also liked how naturally the menu lent itself to passing plates around and trying a little of everything. I'm glad we checked it out, especially because Lardo comes up often when people talk about eating in Mexico City. I'd happily come back and explore more of the smaller plates.
