We spent a week in Mexico City; we stayed just off the Plaza Rio de Janeiro. We saw Cafe Trucha one day as we walked past (it's also just off the Plaza) and thought we should stop by for a meal while we were in the city! I'm glad we did. It's a beautiful, comfortable cafe - definitely a place for a slow meal where you savor rather than rush. The service was great. Our coffees (americanos) and food were great, too. I had eggs in cazuela with mushrooms, kale, sheep's cheese, and tarragon; my husband had eggs with sage, roasted tomato, and sourdough bread. Both dishes were classic, simple, and delicious.
