    1) not a place for a romantic date night 2) Daniella was an excellent server 3) the 49 for two included salad, a flatbread, 2 nice sized pasta dishes and desert 4) it's "okay" - Topanga cafe on Ventura better or spend the money at HOM

I haven't really been part of Dine LA when it's comes around but I've always thought the idea of it is pretty neat. I came with my friend and when she mentioned where this was, I was happy to know it was in topanga social. The service was so phenomenal, our server was friendly and very attentive. We ordered from their Dine LA prefixed menu and each item that came out was incredibly jaw dropping. The items in the menu are also available as a full meal for when dinning on Non Dine LA season. But for $25 pp is such sweet deal for amazing quality of food. Chopped salad 10/10 Garlic bread 8/10 Rigatoni bolognese Rosa 10/10 Pesto chicken Flatbread 8/10 Crème bruleee cheesecake 10/10 All delicious and I will definitely be coming back for more

It is so good here, it's a crime that it is not busier most of the time. Café Social is located within Topanga Social, which is the newest section of the food court. Remember when going to the mall used to be a full day experience full of all sorts of entertainment? It's back at Topanga. While everybody else is clamoring to get a table at the very noisy north Italia, and no shade to them because they're great too, come over here for essentially the same experience without all of the noise. You can even catch a live performer at various times right there in the food court. The menu is simple, yet perfectly done And nothing we have ever tried ever disappointed. I highly recommend.

Café Social is located inside the Topanga Mall, among an assortment of eateries. It is a self standing restaurant type place with a bright yellow seating area. Highly recommend. The food was flavorful and plenty. Our party of 4 took advantage of the weekly special. $25 for dinner which included: a chopped salad which my husband and I ate, garlic bread that we al shared ( resembled garlic naan bread, so good), regatoni with bolagnese sauce (amazing) this was everyone's favorite dish, chicken pesto flatbread which we all enjoyed and loved, and finally a slice of creme brullee cheesecake with fruit and whipped cream. I mean where are you going to get all this food for $25. Each plate had its own distinct flavors. We also ordered an additional dish of pasta to share, the chicken Alfredo which was oh so good. I was skeptical and thought we might have to order another pasta dish, but by the end of the meal we were literally stuffed. Our server was so sweet and great at suggesting what we should order. She was very attentive. She also mentioned that they have a dinner for two offer for $50. We are definitely coming back to try some of the other dishes. Highly recommend this place. I know Norte Italia is upstairs and is a formal Sit down restaurant, but for 1/4 of the price, I am sure the meal here was just as on point if not better. Don't be mislead by the location and set up of this place.

We stopped by for DineLA, great way to try their food for such a cheap price! Service was awesome and it was such a cute spot!

Omg, the food here is heavenly. The service is fantastic! Our server was so pleasant and polite and helpful! (I didn't catch her name) I recommend going to this place 100% if you're looking for some decent food, on-point service and great ambience. Even though it's in the social area of Topanga, you still feel split off from the rest and secluded. I love what they've done and the idea behind it. The food is amazing. The best I've ever tasted honestly. Everyone should try the menu for 2 for $50. It's a deal and the quality is superb! Will be coming back!

    flatbread

The food here was amazing!! The pesto pasta and pesto flatbread were my favorite. We got the four course meal for two. It was $25 each for salad, pizza, pasta, and dessert. They were playing such good music, it was such a vibe. The service was good and the people were all very sweet. The only issue I had was not having a drink. We didn't get any refills and the water was warm. I guess all of the restaurants in the Topanga Social are owned by one person so they all have the same kitchen. When they needed something like ranch, they would have to run to another restaurant and get it which i thought was interesting. Other than that we will definitely be returning the price was good, food was amazing, AND we had leftovers!

    Creme brulee cheesecake

We visit Dine LA restaurants every half year, and the deal at Cafe Social was definitely one of the best tasting and certainly the best value of any. $25 got each person in our party a delicious chopped salad, garlic bread (and regular French bread as well), flatbread pizza, bolognese pasta, and the amazing creme brulee cheesecake. Service was very polite and attentive. My parents are pretty tough on restaurants and thought this one was terrific. The chopped salad was definitely a highlight for them. The restaurant is located inside of the new social food court and the signage is not so great, so it can be a bit hard to find, and at first glance it seems to just be just a seating area for the food court. I think this is depressing patronage, which is unfortunate because the food is great and certainly better than anything else around it. I hope that the business is able to grow. Looking forward to returning! Highly recommend!

    Crème brûlée cheesecake - yummy!

My hubby and I went during Dine LA and the food was amazing. Every dish was delicious and our server, Julissa, was fantastic. It's located inside Topanga Social but cordoned off from the open food court area so it feels more cozy and private, and provides a more elevated experience. It felt like the right balance for a casual date night.

The food was amazing! The service/crew they were all great and Friendly. Demi was our server and recommended the food we ordered and again food was delish! And Joe you are the best! The place is also great for dates, I went with my Husband. We ordered Truffle pizza, Rigatoni bolognese and Chicken Alfredo(I did not get to take a photo). We both enjoyed our time there. We definitely recommend this place.

Really nice meals. Some meals are definitely better than others. Overall great experience! Definitely recommend the mushroom truffle flatbread and pappardelle mushroom cream pasta.

I've been to the other North Italia location as well and this one is right on par -- consistent quality across the board. We started with the White Truffle Garlic Bread ($16.50) and it did not disappoint -- soft, pillowy, and absolutely amazing, with that white truffle aroma hitting you before the first bite even happens. A must-order starter. We also added the Caesar Salad, which was fresh, crispy, and dressed with an amazing dressing that elevated the whole dish. For mains we had the Braised Short Rib Lumache and the Chicken Parmesan ($28.50). The short rib was delicious, prepared more in a ragu style with the meat shredded throughout the pasta. The flavor was outstanding, though personally I'd have preferred bigger, more substantial pieces of short rib rather than the ragu style presentation. Still a great dish overall. The Chicken Parmesan, though, is where this meal really shined -- one of the best chicken parms in the city. Juicy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, and smothered in a rich marinara with melted cheese. This dish alone is worth coming back for. The service was outstanding -- every single person we interacted with was knowledgeable, attentive, and a genuine pleasure to deal with. The environment is welcoming and well designed, and they seated our party of 6 with ease, no hassle at all. Prices are on the higher side, but you genuinely get what you pay for here -- the quality, portion sizes, and overall execution justify the cost. North Italia is doing Italian food right, and the quality across every dish we tried was consistently excellent. Highly recommend for a special dinner or even a casual night out in Topanga.

Wonderful, Mother's Day weekend meal here!…read more A warm, rustic vibe, with tables, booths, a widescreen TV in the bar, and enclosed front patio. As a first time diner, I appreciated the warm greeting from our Maître d'. Our server, Anna, was equally warm. Fritto Misto - Calamari, shrimp, marinara - for the starter was cooked in a delicate batter and was one of our better fried calamari experiences. Next, we had the H.O.M. Salad - their version of an Italian Chop Salad. I subbed romaine for the spring salad mix and it was delicious. I had the Funghi pizza - mushrooms, prosciutto, truffle oil - which was, by far, some of the best pizza in the SFV -- thin, foldable and packed with flavor! My husband had the chicken farm which he liked. Drinks were good. H.O.M. Cake for dessert was a nice way to end the evening. A bit dry for my taste but my husband enjoyed it! Let the cake soak the ice cream for a moister bite. Looking forward to our next visit!

So disppointing. ah, where do I start?…read more The Space: Rather nice outdoor seating with covered or open patio with heaters that make a difference, decent table, yet since it is a street facing, you are basically watching the sidewalk, which is fine...Just that no one thought to move the trashcan sitting right across our table. Just not the best thing to think of when eating, different smells and such. Not hard to move it out the way. Maybe work it out with other neigbors, but, it needs to move. Inside looks lovely. I think we are on year 6, and man...while this place was rather the buzz years back, I have to update the food... Dishes: Sorry to say, but 5 out of the 6 dishes just flat out failed. We had the saltiest Gnochi, the sweetest ravioli with a sweet cream sauce AND reduced balsamic...that sauce is bad....ruined some decent raviolis. The Ceasar salad...How do you mess that up? Well, bad dressing and less attention to the details in ingredients, thats how, and they did indeed mess that up. Fusilli was OK. Not a lot to this to mess up and it survived. The Fritto Misto, for an Italian place was battered like the beer pub down the street, but the 2 pieces of chunky shrimp did taste good and 1 decent piece of calamari. The amount of oily breading on these is way grossly too much. What happen to "dust it on"?, Italian, Greek, and any European ocean side will hardly cake on any batter. There are 3-4 nice pieces and the rest are rather small weak calamari. Not too bad, but the batter is bad. Sauce was pretty much pizza sauce, not bad, but nothing to remember. Didnt have much of flavor, was Ok with the lemon. Good selection of drinks, which is a plus, Nice glasses of wine went well. SERVICE: (Or lack there of!) We got water, and drinks, and then got our starters in, but after the starters came, she was gone and never to return....As it felt. The starters were done, the glasses were empty, and tic toc...no order. Once a service brings starters, you want to be back pretty quick to check on the table, see if they need anything, and if they can place the main orders. Our table never got checked on regardless of the water pouring assistants who were flagged down. We finished and waited. Finally she did show up, we put orders in, and as expected we waited. Honestly, this night broke the back. Have no reason to return. I say this as $250 for a casual dinner is not something you can do just OK or less in. Only 1 dish had any meat in it, and that too was less than half eaten. In fact, all the dishes except the Fusilli were left with more than half their food. Not one peep of interest of why from the waiters. Just rushed cleared and its NEXT!

It's a small Italian deli that hits the way you want it to. To the right as soon as you walk in, there's seats and a table where you can wait for your to go order or to eat there. The entire shop was clean, neat and orderly. It's sensory overload walking in. There's a lot going on. The menu is massive. I knew what I wanted after doing some homework before arriving so I was ready. The lady that took my order couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order, paid, tipped and sat down. A few minutes later, I had what is probably the best sandwich I've had this year. I should have sat in the parking lot and enjoyed it but I wanted the elbow room because I knew this was a monster. After I got home and unwrapped this behemoth, I instantly knew it was worth the drive. The Dillinger (which is what I ordered) has Pastrami, Meatballs, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozz Cheese, Garlic Butter and Marinara Sauce. If there's a better (big back) sandwich, I'll wait for your reply. This was soooooo gooood. In every bite you could taste each ingredient separately and it was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a small cup of their marinara sauce to dip/drizzle on each bite.....couldn't have been a better decision. Worth it.
