    1) not a place for a romantic date night 2) Daniella was an excellent server 3) the 49 for two included salad, a flatbread, 2 nice sized pasta dishes and desert 4) it's "okay" - Topanga cafe on Ventura better or spend the money at HOM

I haven't really been part of Dine LA when it's comes around but I've always thought the idea of it is pretty neat. I came with my friend and when she mentioned where this was, I was happy to know it was in topanga social. The service was so phenomenal, our server was friendly and very attentive. We ordered from their Dine LA prefixed menu and each item that came out was incredibly jaw dropping. The items in the menu are also available as a full meal for when dinning on Non Dine LA season. But for $25 pp is such sweet deal for amazing quality of food. Chopped salad 10/10 Garlic bread 8/10 Rigatoni bolognese Rosa 10/10 Pesto chicken Flatbread 8/10 Crème bruleee cheesecake 10/10 All delicious and I will definitely be coming back for more

It is so good here, it's a crime that it is not busier most of the time. Café Social is located within Topanga Social, which is the newest section of the food court. Remember when going to the mall used to be a full day experience full of all sorts of entertainment? It's back at Topanga. While everybody else is clamoring to get a table at the very noisy north Italia, and no shade to them because they're great too, come over here for essentially the same experience without all of the noise. You can even catch a live performer at various times right there in the food court. The menu is simple, yet perfectly done And nothing we have ever tried ever disappointed. I highly recommend.

    Cheesecake creme brûlée

Café Social is located inside the Topanga Mall, among an assortment of eateries. It is a self standing restaurant type place with a bright yellow seating area. Highly recommend. The food was flavorful and plenty. Our party of 4 took advantage of the weekly special. $25 for dinner which included: a chopped salad which my husband and I ate, garlic bread that we al shared ( resembled garlic naan bread, so good), regatoni with bolagnese sauce (amazing) this was everyone's favorite dish, chicken pesto flatbread which we all enjoyed and loved, and finally a slice of creme brullee cheesecake with fruit and whipped cream. I mean where are you going to get all this food for $25. Each plate had its own distinct flavors. We also ordered an additional dish of pasta to share, the chicken Alfredo which was oh so good. I was skeptical and thought we might have to order another pasta dish, but by the end of the meal we were literally stuffed. Our server was so sweet and great at suggesting what we should order. She was very attentive. She also mentioned that they have a dinner for two offer for $50. We are definitely coming back to try some of the other dishes. Highly recommend this place. I know Norte Italia is upstairs and is a formal Sit down restaurant, but for 1/4 of the price, I am sure the meal here was just as on point if not better. Don't be mislead by the location and set up of this place.

We stopped by for DineLA, great way to try their food for such a cheap price! Service was awesome and it was such a cute spot!

Omg, the food here is heavenly. The service is fantastic! Our server was so pleasant and polite and helpful! (I didn't catch her name) I recommend going to this place 100% if you're looking for some decent food, on-point service and great ambience. Even though it's in the social area of Topanga, you still feel split off from the rest and secluded. I love what they've done and the idea behind it. The food is amazing. The best I've ever tasted honestly. Everyone should try the menu for 2 for $50. It's a deal and the quality is superb! Will be coming back!

    flatbread

The food here was amazing!! The pesto pasta and pesto flatbread were my favorite. We got the four course meal for two. It was $25 each for salad, pizza, pasta, and dessert. They were playing such good music, it was such a vibe. The service was good and the people were all very sweet. The only issue I had was not having a drink. We didn't get any refills and the water was warm. I guess all of the restaurants in the Topanga Social are owned by one person so they all have the same kitchen. When they needed something like ranch, they would have to run to another restaurant and get it which i thought was interesting. Other than that we will definitely be returning the price was good, food was amazing, AND we had leftovers!

    Creme brulee cheesecake

We visit Dine LA restaurants every half year, and the deal at Cafe Social was definitely one of the best tasting and certainly the best value of any. $25 got each person in our party a delicious chopped salad, garlic bread (and regular French bread as well), flatbread pizza, bolognese pasta, and the amazing creme brulee cheesecake. Service was very polite and attentive. My parents are pretty tough on restaurants and thought this one was terrific. The chopped salad was definitely a highlight for them. The restaurant is located inside of the new social food court and the signage is not so great, so it can be a bit hard to find, and at first glance it seems to just be just a seating area for the food court. I think this is depressing patronage, which is unfortunate because the food is great and certainly better than anything else around it. I hope that the business is able to grow. Looking forward to returning! Highly recommend!

    Crème brûlée cheesecake - yummy!

My hubby and I went during Dine LA and the food was amazing. Every dish was delicious and our server, Julissa, was fantastic. It's located inside Topanga Social but cordoned off from the open food court area so it feels more cozy and private, and provides a more elevated experience. It felt like the right balance for a casual date night.

The food was amazing! The service/crew they were all great and Friendly. Demi was our server and recommended the food we ordered and again food was delish! And Joe you are the best! The place is also great for dates, I went with my Husband. We ordered Truffle pizza, Rigatoni bolognese and Chicken Alfredo(I did not get to take a photo). We both enjoyed our time there. We definitely recommend this place.

Really nice meals. Some meals are definitely better than others. Overall great experience! Definitely recommend the mushroom truffle flatbread and pappardelle mushroom cream pasta.

PARKING valet is available, but we found street parking on ventura blvd. FOOD 01. squash blossoms ($21 for 5 pc): 8.3/10 these were crispy and light, delightful to eat on their own without the tomato marinara sauce served on the side. casalena's squash blossoms had a strong, lovely hint of lemon that wasn't present in mother wolf's rendition. 02. chicken piccata ($29): 7.5/10 this main was served with a generous helping of potatoes mashed into a delicious velvet. 03. vodka lumaconi ($25): 9/10 this dish was the standout of the evening! the pasta shells were cooked al dente and coated in a slightly spicy, perfectly savory vodka sauce! casalena does not skimp on the sauce in any of their dishes! 04. tagliatelle ($29): 7/10 this pasta dish was not nearly as impressive. 05. tiramisu ($15): 7/10 since we mentioned the dinner was for a special occasion in our reservation, this dessert was served with a candle. while its presentation was lovely, its taste was underwhelming. the espresso was extremely subtle, and there was more madeline than mascarpone/cream. overall, our party of 4 was fully satiated after splitting 1 appetizer, 3 mains, and 1 dessert. service was lovely throughout! and as another yelpie mentioned in their review, their matchbook is very nice.

Made from scratch daily!…read more Wow, everything we had here was amazing. We came by on a Sunday around 4:30pm and they were already out of a few items, so do come early to make sure you can order your first choice. Sadly, two of the main dishes we actually wanted to try were 86'd for the day , but I guess that just means they are THAT good (the Sunday Night Lasagne and Ricotta Cavatelli) Ok so first off the restaurant itself is very pretty and open. The bar area which allows you to sit on either side- indoor or outdoor is a nice touch. For the appetizers, we tried the calamari and the grilled bread (they were out of house made focaccia). For $5 you can add a side of whipped ricotta topped with pistachios, honey, balsamic, olive oil. GET THIS! Delicious. The calamari was also very good- super light crispy batter. For the entrees, we ordered our second choice items- Spicy Rigatoni Vodka and strozzapreti. The pasta is FRESH and cooked perfectly. The flavor profiles on both also hit the mark The margherita pizza is also good- the dough is thin and not too saucy. Just right! If you are going to order dessert, you must order the butter cake. It's seasonal so they switch it up about every three months but I have no doubt that whatever version they have it will be a winner. This time is Banana caramel and OMG sooo good. That buttery caramel stole the show- not too sweet. This was a crowd favorite. Will definitely need to come back to try our first choice items and honestly I hope it's soon!

We recently celebrated a friend's birthday at Adagio in Woodland Hills and unfortunately left with…read morevery mixed feelings. To start with the positives -- the atmosphere is pleasant overall. It's a smaller restaurant with tightly spaced tables and an older crowd, but the interior is nice enough, even if not particularly memorable. We were seated promptly as our group arrived, which we appreciated. The appetizers were actually very good: the mushroom crostini and the Italian potato balls in arrabbiata sauce (not sure of the exact name) were flavorful and a great start. Later, the Caesar salad was also quite good, slightly tangy but enjoyable. Of the entrees, the Chicken Adagio stood out as the best dish -- well cooked with a nice lemon flavor. Dessert ended on a high note too: both the tiramisu and mocha cake were delicious. Unfortunately, the service experience overshadowed the food. Early in the meal, one adult in our party accidentally spilled a glass of wine that soaked the table. The owner/manager immediately reacted loudly with profanity ("F**k, just what I needed"), and instead of helping, walked around the table repeatedly complaining. No staff member offered napkins, assistance, or even basic concern -- despite one guest having wine spilled on them. After several minutes, we had to ask for a new tablecloth ourselves and even began clearing the table to help. The owner made additional rude comments about not being able to drink without spilling. When the busboy finally came, he replaced the tablecloth but did so angrily and literally tossed new plates onto the table. There was still no offer to replace the spilled wine, no replacement drinks, and no effort to make the situation right. It was extremely uncomfortable, especially since we were trying not to escalate things during a birthday celebration. For the remainder of the evening, the owner sat behind the bar staring over at the table, which made things even more awkward. At the very end of the meal he briefly apologized, but it felt half-hearted and far too late after the earlier behavior. The rest of the food was decent but inconsistent -- the penne arrabbiata was tasty though the pasta was overcooked, the chicken dish with it was also slightly overdone, and the bolognese was okay but not memorable. Overall, while some of the food was enjoyable, the hostile and unprofessional response to a simple accident made this an experience none of us want to repeat. Dining at a nicer restaurant should feel welcoming and relaxed, not uncomfortable or adversarial. Sadly, all seven of us agreed we wouldn't return.

I knew what I wanted after doing some homework before arriving so I was ready. The lady that took my order couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order, paid, tipped and sat down. A few minutes later, I had what is probably the best sandwich I've had this year. I should have sat in the parking lot and enjoyed it but I wanted the elbow room because I knew this was a monster. After I got home and unwrapped this behemoth, I instantly knew it was worth the drive. The Dillinger (which is what I ordered) has Pastrami, Meatballs, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozz Cheese, Garlic Butter and Marinara Sauce. If there's a better (big back) sandwich, I'll wait for your reply. This was soooooo gooood. In every bite you could taste each ingredient separately and it was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a small cup of their marinara sauce to dip/drizzle on each bite.....couldn't have been a better decision. Worth it. I mentioned that I had placed the order at "5:30" and he corrected me (5:35) and that we're 3-4 tickets behind because only "20 minutes" had passed since the order was placed. IMO if you get caught screwing up just say sorry and you'll see if the order can get bumped up. Don't nitpick the 5 minutes and then act like putting in the order 20 mins after it was received is normal and then without blinking make it seem totally ok that the order is behind 3-4 more tickets. There are actually several pickup customers waiting so the issues seems to be with the front of the house staff. If you get annoyed by these types of unnecessary delays and bad customer service don't come here. Zero stars but that's not an option. Update after restaurant response: No. I'm not denying these facts: -I placed the order at 5:30 - you received the order at 5:35 - I walked in at 5:40, we were around the corner. I knew I would be waiting What I did not expect was to see staff discuss and whisper about our order and then seeing and hearing it be put in at 5:55. When I asked about it instead of saying "oh man sorry we're so busy we just put it in, we'll try to rush it", I was told "no maam you placed the order at 5:35 and then walked in a few mins later" and completely trying to gaslight me in the restaurant by mansplaining the timeline and then telling me my order was still 3-4 orders behind just as you are doing this here on yelp. You can say whatever you want to make me seem the unreasonable one here but my husband and I were there and witnessed the confusion of your staff and the ticket being sent back. At 5:55 when we asked about it it was not unreasonable to expect it to be coming up soon, not that it was still 3-4 orders behind when we clearly saw it being sent back moments ago. All the explanations about your ticket system has nothing to do with the customer. Never use that as an excuse, we don't care That's for you to figure out. There was a woman who also piped up when she heard the kerfuffle and said she'd been waiting on an order she placed At 5. Wonder how long everyone else in the lobby was waiting, when I left there was a backup of people waiting. Listen, we only went there because our friends recommended the cheese pizza for kids. You're not going to miss our business and that's fine because we'll never go there again.
