Don't waste your $$$!!! Waited HOURS for flavorless food! The owner is extremely arrogant and refuses to stand behind his product.

Was craving pollo a la brasa so decided to try this place…read more The chicken was smoked so the skin was pretty soggy. I was not a fan but if you like that smoky flavor you might enjoy it. i ordered a 1/2 chicken and a 1/4 chicken. One was supposed to come with fries and salad and the other just salad. We ended up with 2 1:2 chickens all with salad. Pretty sure though i tried my best to order in spanish , we had some pretty serious communication issues. Water was not free and they charge a small credit card fee. The servers were very sweet. The price for the chicken and two waters with tip was about $50.

I have driven through rougher parts of this neighborhood, however this plaza was well kept, and I felt safe during my visit. The inside had bare bones decor with folding chairs and tables for seating. Menu sheets were available in several spots. One side featured breakfast, drinks, and desserts. The other side listed the soups and entrees (beef, chicken, seafood). Although I could not find it on the menu, the man said Lomo Saltado was available which I ordered. I also selected a Causa Rellenade Pollo as an appetizer and a second entree, Aji de Gallina. The couple went to the kitchen to prepare my food while I waited. The promotional photos looked much more polished than what I received in styrofoam takeout containers. The Causa Rellenade Pollo had the most authentic appearance of my items. It was a layered mini casserole folded into a triangular shape. The top and bottom consisted of yellow potato with white chicken meat in the middle. The Lomo Saltado contained white rice on one side and then a stir fry of marinated strips of sirloin with onions, tomatoes, and french fries along the top. The flavor lacked the strong vinegar and soy sauce I have tasted in this dish at other restaurants. The Aji de Gallina was a stew made by sautéing red onion, garlic, and ají amarillo together. Shredded poached chicken meat was then added. The combination was then thickened with cheese or milk. Half of a hard boiled egg garnished the top. This entree had the best taste of the trio because there was a good balance of tartness and savoriness. When it came time to paying my check, the cost was slightly higher than what was posted on the menu. I didn't want to dispute the charges as I felt bad because the owners seemed to be struggling for more patronage. With the mixed experience I had with the food I sampled, I gave a 3.5 star rating for Chimpum Callao Peruvian Restaurant.

Once inside though the interior is well decorated and the servers were all very helpful in helping us decide what to eat. Me and my partner ended up going with a lomo saltado, the customer's favorite (chicken leg w/fries and a salad) and a causa rellena (potato salad with chicken salad in between). Every dish here was delicious; you can tell they don't skimp on seasoning here and the salt levels on each dish were perfect. I was also surprised at how tasty the sauces they provide were (even the salad dressing didn't miss). The meats were all cooked excellently (zero dryness) and the helped flavor the included carbs on each dish. Each dish felt like comfort food and although I've never been to Peru, this food made me want to go visit. Overall, highly recommend checking this out if you're in the mood for Peruvian food!

Everything was well seasoned, the portions were generous, and you can tell a lot of care goes into the cooking. The service was also super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. It has that comforting, local, family-owned feel that makes you want to keep coming back. The hostess told me that it was a family owned restaurant and that they had been around for quite some time! The ambiance was great, lots of cute decorations! Definitely a hidden gem and a great spot if you're craving Peruvian food. I'll absolutely be back to try more of the menu! Highly recommend the Dulce De Leche Alfajores!

Imma start this by saying, we havent tried their whole menu, when we come to the liberty market…read moreplace everyone scatters and we try different little restaurants. So I can only speak on their ceviche! If you havent tried peruvian ceviche, hmmmm its to die for! its so different than mexican ceviche, whilst still kind of similar with the tanginess, and the freshness there are so many different and unique ingredients that go into it I've had peruvian ceviche from 2 other places, and I can honestly say that this is my favorite so far! It comes in a nice little plastic re-usable container (Yay for sustainability and recycling), and it comes LOADED! you get every penny's worth in food! The lady at the check out was so sweet, your food comes out pretty fast too! so that's a plus if you're in a pinch

AMBIANCE Parking: Liberty Station parking--pretty manageable but can get busy during peak hours. Seating: Shared seating throughout the public market, so it might take a minute to find a table. Vibes: Welcome to Liberty Station! A festive area pretty much throughout the week. Whether its a place to eat, partaking in a event, or just hanging out - this is your spot. The area itself is a lively food hall energy with. It's not a sit-down restaurant vibe, but more of a grab-your-food-and-find-a-seat kind of experience. A lot of options around, but this spot holds its own with bold Peruvian flavors. FOOD / DRINKS Pesto (Tallarinines Verde) Chicken (Recommend) Solid dish. Rich portion - huge piece of chicken and good amount of pasta mixed well with that herb-forward pesto sauce (Tallarinines Verde) - with a more creamy + umami-forward than your usual pesto It's a bit of a fusion take compared to traditional Peruvian dishes, but still flavorful and satisfying. Good portion and definitely filling. Chicha Morada (Recommend) Refreshing and smooth. Slightly sweet with those subtle spice notes (like cinnamon/clove vibes), which makes it a perfect balance to the savory food. A classic Peruvian drink and a must-try if it's your first time. SERVICE Quick and efficient--typical of a market-style setup. You order, grab your food, and go. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Good selections, delicious food, and steady vibes. Good spot for casual Peruvian food while exploring Liberty Station. It leans more quick-service + accessible rather than a full sit-down experience, but the flavors still come through. The chicha morada is a must, and the pesto chicken is a solid pick if you want something filling. Best wishes to Chefs - Fredy, Tony, and the rest of the Latin Chef team! TIPS * Great option if you want to try Peruvian flavors without committing to a full restaurant

It has been a few years since I have been here, so now it is time to do a review…read more This place is located smack in the middle of downtown. Parking is really hard, so preferably take an uber or park at the conventiom center or Hilton. Its only a 10 min from there to the restaurant and super easy access to get put of downtown. I really like this place because the ambiance is like being in Spain, DJ and Live Latin Music until around 1am. Decor is like being in a Spaniard "Bar" and it is usually pretty busy. Full bar, good cocktails, wine list and a great variety type of Cold and Hot Tapas to share. Their signature dish for me Is the Black Seafood Paella made with the squid's black ink. Lively music and there is an area where you can dance if you are up to the mood Great place to gather with friends, they do take reservations or you can also walk in and sit at the bar if the tables are busy. There is like a second floor with tables to be a little bit more separate from the music. Ladies bathroom, very interesting decor with pics of cute famous Spanish and Latin Actors. The only thing is that there was no a/c in the restroom so it was super hot there even if were there for 2 minutes. Service was average. Not out of this world. I think our waiter was taking care of too many tables at the same time and he was always in a hurry. We had to hunt him down to get our orders taken and even for the bill. This left a lot to desire for the restaurant quality. But still a good option for dinner, fun, laughs and dance.

Great spot after the game or just strolling around The "all in" paella and both the white and red sangrias are phenomenal.
