When you make the reservation (and you really should make a reservation), you choose where you want to dine. The menu also differs, depending on where you sit. On the ground floor, that's the restaurant. I've dined there the most. I love trying their cocktails and their bitterballen aren't that bad. You almost can't go wrong with the dish that you choose; they also change and rotate so it might already be a different menu. I sat upstairs once. It was a small plates sharing menu with more cocktails to try! In other words, it was a more extensive cocktail menu. Every time I've been the food and the cocktails have been excellent. They also have beer in case you just want to do that. The decor is fun and quirky with an Indiana Jones/Jungle Cruise flavor. I would highly recommend getting a reservation if you're in Groningen.

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Groningen. The…read morerestaurant has amazing, cozy interior, perfect for a romantic dinner or a nice conversation in comfortable surroundings. I was with family, and we ordered the Tagine for two, with different meats, plus a few side dishes. IT WAS AMAZING! So Rich in flavour and spices. The amount of dishes to choose from is insane, and they range from meaty to vegetarian, although I don't know about vegan. The service was really nice and tried to translate everything we didn't understand. I would definitely go again, although it is a bit pricey for a student-budget.

Because the space is small, you absolutely have to make a reservation. I went on a Sunday afternoon, almost right when they opened, and I didn't have a reservation. They offered me a table outside. The table still had cigarette dust on it. The menu is short but representative of Italian cuisine. I think I ordered the wrong thing because I didn't find it spectacular. My Italian colleague advised that the Roman dishes are the best. If you need authentic Italian food in Groningen, go to Gustatio. If you go to Gustatio, make a reservation!

It would be 5 stars, if they had good wine. The wine they sold in glasses was of poor quality (like a 4€ bottle in a supermarket) and this is why they don't get 5 stars. You could taste the sulphites and the only wines (two kinds) sold per glass were either sweet or semi-dry. I would gladly pay more for a decent glass, because the food deserves it.
