It's a comfortable cafe with delightful decor and colours - everything is clean including the brightly patterned tablecloths; the food is excellent and very good value (better than any we've found in Dumfries and we've tried out several places over the last few years). There's a great breakfast menu, snacks of many kinds, soup and fresh bread, sandwiches, toasties, panini, rolls, baguettes, vegetarian choices and so much more. I had a baked potato and I was surprised and delighted that it was a good size and heaped with cheese and coleslaw (so often these days you get a small potato with hardly any filling!) It also arrived with an eye-catching fresh salad which included slices of orange and tortilla chips - not bad at all these days for only £5.25! My husband had a scrambled egg roll which he said was lovely - fresh and delicious and only £2.25 (where else would you find that?) There is a huge choice of drinks both hot and cold; good teas and coffees, hot chocolate and more. The owner is very pleasant and helpful as was the lady who brought our meals to the table. We'll definitely go straight there the next time we're in Dumfries!

It is not a very big place, just one room with a few tables and 3 small tables outside on a small walkway. The centerpiece is the big counter where you can see all the great cakes and breads they make here. Apart from tea and cake you can also have several savoury lunch options. We went to this place twice during our stay on the Isle of Man and both times we had delicous tea with a gorgeous piece of cake. Everything here is homemade and you can taste it. The staff is really friendly and does everything to make you feel right at home and even has time for a little chat about the place and the food they prepare here. If the extra chorizo was on the plate it didn't feel like it. not sure what normal looks like but if it is half the sausages for £2 less then it is still overpriced. It was a couple of eggs and 2 cut up sausages. In fairness it was very tasty however the price for what was received left me feeling let down. Maybe this is an oddity on there menu but I will see when I come back again.

Their concept of pop up weekend dinners is fabulous, the week we were there they had smoked meats on the menu for Friday night, and Brazilian for Saturday night, I think 25 sterling fixed price per person for multi course meal. So far we have not been able to experience the pop up dinners but it sounds fantastic. Everything is so delicious, clearly a very talented culinary staff.

This was a great choice. I grabbed a cinnamon roll, and ordered a cup of their filtered coffee (they no longer offer Chemex, sadly) and an order of poached eggs on toast with a side of bacon. This was something new for me, and I loved the simplicity of it. The sourdough toast was amazing, and the poached eggs went with it perfectly. High marks for the bacon also! Service was quick, and everything was brought out promptly. This is a nice coffee shop, plenty of seating, and a quiet place to have a conversation or get some work done. I know the people in the UK love their tea, but I would happily be a regular here if I lived in Belfast.

We hid from the rain this little cafe and ordered some excellent fry ups. Two of us had the standard English breakfast while Dan went for the large version which contained a serious amount of meat. I really enjoyed mine. The line up was scrambled egg (you get to choose you egg type), sausage, bacon, black pud, beans, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown and toast. My toast could have been more toasted (it was still pretty much bread) but everyone else's looked good so I think it was a blip. I had a latte too which was good. It's waitress service to order but they were not in any rush to come over so if you are hungry I'd suggest heading up to the counter.

It has a great position right in the centre of the town, with fantastic views of the castle and Belfast Lough. The inside is bright and has lots of seating. They offer the usual teas and coffees, with an amazing range of milkshakes, soft drinks and hot chocolate. I had a bacon butty when I visited which was delicious, but they also have a good range of sandwiches, sweet treats, and waffles! Limited parking is available on the street outside, and further up Main Street. Failing that there is lots of free parking available in the Castle Car Park, just a short walk away.

We ordered a pide with chorizo egg n mozzarella to share. We never tried it before n it's pretty amazing. Their scones are also really nice to try. The service here is friendly n efficient. However, I'll say it's slightly pricey. But we know we will miss their pide n come here if we come to Arran again.
