What an awesome cafe. Great food and great service. It was busy, but we still felt comfortable and well taken care of. Would definitely return.

Cute inside cafe. Flat white well made, beautiful and delicious. A tad strong for this American but loved it. Toast perfect. Sourdough was best I've had. The eggs are organic and made perfectly. The chili eggs.. . Spicy and just the right spice. My nose ran a tad while I was smiling. Crowded at 8 am on a weekday but there seemed to always be one table available.

Busy and loud so I knew I was at the perfect place for breakfast. Strong, hot coffee paired with eggs Benedict, hash browns and mushrooms/spinach. Very delicious except one of my eggs was overdone. It didn't stop me from eating it! Friendly staff with smiles on their faces despite the morning rush.

Kudos to the chef. Cafe Neo is simply a delight. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the food is phenomenal. We had the pumpkin pancakes which were a delightful savory treat, the breakfast bagel with crispy hashbrowns and the kumara and carrot fritters which were incredible. The fresh ingredients, unique flavor pairings (e.g. feta on the pancakes and whipped goat cheese with the fritters) made this a fantastic choice for breakfast, not to mention our exceptional waitress Katie. This is truly one of the best places we've eaten and we'd highly recommend it to anyone in town!

I was terribly jet lagged after arriving Wellington from the Eastern US 14hrs earlier. Had not eaten since landing and getting some much needed sleep. Waking up early due to time difference I spent the early hours of the morning searching for the perfect first meal in NZ. I can't imagine any better place than NEO. I was craving a bit of comfort but still wanted the local twist. When I saw they had Eggs Benedict on a bed of hash browns rather than a Muffin I knew I was on to something. I sat down just after 7a opening and within 20min the place was full. That plus the fantastic brewed hot coffee that rivals the best I've had anywhere was a really good sign. As planned, I ordered the EB and was not disappointed. The use of bacon rather than sliced ham was a great additional twist. And the hash brown was everything I'd hoped it would be. Nicely crisp on the outside and soft and savory inside. It's a perfect compliment to the gooey goodness of the clearly farm fresh eggs and the salty bacon. Give it a try. you won't be disappointed.

What a lovely room for a Saturday brunch - pleasant, light-filled, and music gently murmuring. Eggs poached perfectly, bacon crispy but not hard, and yummy. Solid dish well executed!

The…read morecafe isn't too big and tables are packed closely together so I wouldn't recommend it for large groups, especially during meal hours or for families with strollers however there is outdoor seating also available which may be able to accommodate. We ordered the fruit crepe which was absolutely beautiful with whipped cream. The crepe was beautifully cooked with a slight crisp on the edges, and the fruit (strawberries, kiwis and bananas) were all served fresh alongside whipped cream. For our savory dish, we ordered the mixed platter with in house smoked salmon, green lipped mussels, fries and mesclun salad which we devoured in under 5 minutes. All in all, this meal was the highlight of our day in Wellington and we'd happily come back if given the chance. BONUS: Free WiFi

This is the new Brittany who has speared a spot on the block, since my last visit to Welly!…read more A great new cafe in down-town Welly. The service isn't all that fast but who cares, the staff are friendly and passionate enough about French regional cuisine to make up for it! It was the perfect spot for a lunch-time catch up with my sis-in-law who works for Adventure Travel across the road! It wasn't easy making a decision, we couldn't decide if we wanted to embark on a quick escape to Burgundy via the Beef Bourguignon or take a trip to the French Alps via the Gratin Dauphinois! In the end, we settled for neither and opted for steaming, hot bowls of authentic French onion soup, most generously topped with the grilled, gooey goodness of Gruyere cheese! From there, we journeyed onto the Western point of Brittany via their famous galettes! With over seven options to choose from, the crepes definitely rule this place! Bonjour et bienvenue au Cafe Breton!
