I loved how they included so many quirks from the show, which look pretty subtle, but which all have stories - from the life-size storm trooper in the window, to the blue french horn and yellow umbrella. The cocktails and shots also have hilarious names, and are decently priced - from the "Minnesota Tidal Wave" and "Das Blitz" drinks to the Pineapple Incident shot. The only thing I was really weirded out by was how there was a playback of a sound actor reading the Bro Code in German in the bathrooms, and it got this strange ecco sound - but all in all it was a fantastic experience! Oh, and for international visitors, they don't take cards, only cash, which seems a little backwards to me (at least at the time of the review), but I guess it's a Berlin thing.

However, a couple days later we visited the Degendorff again which allowed me a more concentrated look around. Here's a brief description of the site: The front room looks like a classic bar room - lots of dark wood, dimmed lights and a long cornered bar surrounded by 5 tables for 4 to 10 persons. There's two other rooms from which one is a kind of lounge on viewing the small garden at the front side. The other room is sort of a playroom which contains a darts machine, foosball table, a tiny dancefloor and is outlined by a half-height shelf for your drinks and several bar stools. Between the three rooms there is a small hallway with a small table, shelfs and stools for a more intimate conversation. As mentioned, there is a small garden outside offering about 50 seats and a big screen for...screening purposes like soccer. The tap has several beers from Germany and Czechia and there are also quite a few cocktails on the menu which are done in a tasty manner. If you have to satisfy your hunger after a few drinks, the Degendorff offers a simple but well-working menu: different kinds of sausages, chili, some sort of hefty pizza, that kind of stuff you're craving after spending a time drinking. The prices are definitly ok from what I experienced going out in Berlin. I recommend this place to everyone who likes a good drink in a relaxed atmosphere

Having liked rock / hard rock and metal as well as many other styles of music for almost thirty years now I don't feel the need to visit cliché metal bars, but since I still like the music I find it fun when I visit somewhere like this that embraces the music but doesn't feel the need to resort to every metal cliché in the book to feel authentic. For all their lack of fashion sense, they remain unpretentious and quite frankly I prefer their company to that of hipsters. Maybe that's why my friends dubbed me "Skid Magnet" in high school. Despite what you might think, I don't think this bar even hosts metal bands. It's really just a quiet (really!) pub with long haired headbangers on all the TVs. Beers on tap? Don't remember. Jagermeister? Of course, but not since 2nd year Uni for me.This place is a classic case of the people you're with making your good time what it is. The bar itself isn't really much to write home about, but it is a niche market that might deserve a pop in to see who's there.

The beers are large and cold, the burgers freshly grilled with a nice char, and the proximity to Berghain guarantees quality people-watching throughout the day. The grill is a bit pricey, with burgers for 7 EUR (no cheese) and a small plate of fries for 2 EUR, but it's all high-quality and tasty as hell. The burger comes topped with grilled onions and a cranberry relish that is outstanding. The fries are so satisfyingly salty to counterbalance an afternoon of Radlers and Alsters.

I remember, when I came, the place was packed - but I got a beer right away. Later, when most guests had left (around 1:30 AM), it took like 20 minutes to get a waiter. Obviously the people trying to get a drink were interrupting the people (working and) chatting. Most service people were also not very friendly. And I saw one of the girls fix up a beer with a straw (to get a better looking "beer head"). Weird. Won't be back, I think.

They have a decent selection of imported beers such as guiness, heineken, strongbow & newcastle brown ale, but unless you're really hurting for a familiar beer, I'd recommend you avoid, as the pint of heineken I wsa served was rancid. I would have complained but as the big screen was so blurry I left quickly to go to another bar where I could watch the match.
