Very perplexed to see 02 sub-standard reviews from other yelp reviewers…read more... My disclaimer would be, those folks have a combined 22 reviews between them... I question their credibility. Another disclaimer: Austria is a magical, incredible place. It's almost surreal, like being on another planet. The standards for everything are super-super high... I don't see how any legitimate place of business could get a weak review. And now, on with the review: We were driving from Munich to Zurich. And a beautiful drive that was. Drove right thru the lovely town of Seefeld, and per earlier dialogue, it was like taking a page out of the Sound of Music. Beauty everywhere. This is a ski-town, resort like place, though we were here in October of 2018. We walked around a bit, there were tons of little outdoor cafes etc, it was a crisp fall day, and we decided to eat here.... It's a really clean, tight place. I had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, my girlfriend had the carrot soup and salad, we split a bottle of san pelligrino in typical European fashion, everything was terrific. Attention to detail, pleasant service, nice silverware, plates, clean... all that stuff that you would expect. Another positive sign, the bathroom was impeccably clean. This is another rating standard I look for. We did not have dessert but all that stuff looked super tasty as well. In my opinion, this would be a great place to dine for lunch or dinner, nestled in a very beautiful setting.

My friend walked in to ask the same question ten minutes later and suddenly there was a table but it would be required an hour and forty minutes later for a booking, which suited us. We would therefore recommend to let some time pass and ask again. Our waiter must have fancied the pretty girl at the next table as she was served way before us even though she'd literally just arrived. When it was our turn, he proceeded to rudely insist that a drink from their menu was not something they offered and he was clearly at the end of his tether when asked for the ingredients of the house dressing. The mystery was confirmed by the kitchen where he allegedly went to enquire as per my request: The house dressing is the house dressing. I was ready to leave at this point but my friend persuaded me not to. I'm glad I stayed as the waiter proceeded to behave normal and the food was rather lovely - the beef was tender and the portion sizes were generous. Nothing was too salty as previously experienced by another reviewer, the kitchen may have taken the feedback on board. And I am happy to report that the current house dressing is dairy free.

Maybe that's why they call it Sofa? Not sure if this place is new or if it's just a well-kept secret of the locals, and if these guys really couldn't speak much English or if they just didn't want to talk to us, but the food we ordered was delicious, and in my opinion, showcased their ingredients well. They were stressing that they could make coffee in a lot of ways, but I went with probably the most predictable drink for an American--the caramel latte. Though it wasn't so sugary that it was almost undrinkable, I made my way through it, and it was pretty good despite being all of five gulps in volume (shockingly not a real unit of measurement in the imperial system). I also ordered the avocado lox toast, which featured, as you may have guessed, avocado and smoked salmon, but also fresh tomatoes and fried eggs. The bread was both soft and crunchy, the eggs had this lovely nutrient-dense flavor, the tomatoes were ripe and crisp, and even the avocado seemed to be fresh and ready to be eaten. They're no fresh California avocados, but they still added a lot to the toast. The only complaint I had about this item was that the salmon was pretty fishy tasting, and that lasted with me throughout the day and into dinner. Not ideal, but understandable considering the cafe's proximity to the water that Salmon would have been caught in. Especially if you are from the US, you should make sure to try an item that has fresh, local vegetables and eggs in it. You have to really go out of your way to find ingredients with quality like this in the US, unless you grow your own vegetables and raise chickens yourself. Now I can't wait for the employees of this restaurant to use Google translate on this review and be like "wtf is she talking about" while sipping their coffee.
