Di Stasio is one of those restaurants to be adored in Fitzroy street so it was to my dismay that the service was below par on my last visit. Usually, it is supreme service so perhaps they had an off night which is a shame as I was showing it off to my lover. The golden hand greeted us and we were seated at the back of the low lit restaurant which perhaps had something to do with it, as it seemed we had been forgotten. I had to even go and ask for water! I think our waiter had finished his shift or something so I asked to be seated up the front where a more diligent waiter presided. It all turned around and we were treated to a spectacular meal. The food can never be faulted here, which is why it is respected so much. We shared the Carpaccio con Rucola, a raw beef with lemon dressing and roquette dish. I then ordered the fish of the day which was exquisite and lover boy ordered the Tagliata Di Manzo, eye fillet steak with balsamic and roasted tomato. In these flashy restaurants you have to order sides so we ordered a mixed leaf and the Insalata Di Piselli, a salad of peas and buffalo ricotta. It was perfect ordering and we were perfectly full. Besides the small glitch in service, DiStasio still manages to impress.

Third Wave Cafe - Smoked lamb burger with a side of crispy golden chips. Fresh and tender ! Highly recommend

My husband and I knew we had to try Third Wave while in town, after seeing it pop up on our…read moreInstagram algorithms. We are both big fans of meat/BBQ so we were so excited to check it out!! As delicious as everything looked, we ultimately ended up splitting a BBQ platter for 1 with some pork ribs added on... and it was still sooooo much food that we left stuffed! All the meat was great, but we both agreed the pork ribs were our favorite. Outside of that, the beef rib and oink ball also stood out. One other thing that really stood out to us, was their sauces. They were fantastic! Not just what they use to cook their meats, but the side sauces. Nuclear wave was a nice habanero sauce with great smokiness and solid heat that paired perfectly with the meats. They have happy hour on certain drinks from open until 6pm on certain days, so be sure to pair a beer with it!

Such a blunt but exceptional approach worthy of the rating I gave it. Onion rings were crunchy and impressive. Wings were beuitiful. The sauce, in multiple occasions was at the perfect level, they didn't make it too strong. The big stuff was the most impressive. Despite its immense, Headstrong appearance the food was actually easy and enjoyable to eat and handle. Every single item was impressive apart from the bread, the buns. Which were boring. So you gotta use it to make a sandwich or something and make the most out of it. Wish I could of given the bubblegum milk shake a chance. Great atmosphere as well. Worthy of 5 stars. Worthy of paying the price that we paid. Excellent customer service. A wonderful experience from third wave Cafe overall.

Lots of regular customers that walk in and the staff knows all of them by name, which is great. It shows to me that they care. Will come back here again next time we are in Port Melbourne

He was more than happy to oblige. In fact they have a battery of power points and usb ports, presumably so people can use their devices. I ordered the chicken burger which was delicious. I wasn't given a knife and fork so, assuming this was intentional, I started eating it by hand. It wasn't long before it was disintegrating in my hands and I had melted cheese and juice running down my arms. I eventually got the cutlery from a somewhat embarrassed waiter. He was really nice though so I readily forgave him. On the whole it was a pleasant experience and I would happily go back there. On the down side the toilets are constantly running out of paper, towels and hand wash sometimes for several days at s time. In spite of mentioning it several times to the waiting staff they either forget it or ignore it. Also the coffee machine is apparently supposed to be kept on until 6pm but is often turned off well ahead of time. Chairs are stacked on top of tables up to an hour before closing. Not a good look

Steve and Matt (the faces you will see on most visits) are hilarious and encapsulate good service - they're friendly, accommodating, and take an interest in their regular customers. This alone is worth visiting Miss Jackson for, but throw in their great menu and you'd be crazy not to put this place on your list of regular brunch haunts. Breakfast covers a lot of the usual suspects - but the winner is the corn cakes with bacon, avo and chilli jam, accompanied by a strong Allpress coffee to wash it down. The corned beef sandwich with pickles makes for a sturdy lunch and the home made slices and muffins are a great afternoon pick me up. A rotating specials menu offers seasonal variety - recently; a panfried garfish with a panzanella salad got two out of two thumbs up. Sit outside if you fancy some sun, at the large communal tables if you want to read the papers, or in the back room if you're after discretion. Either way, you won't be sorry.

We ordered 4 meals and 6 coffees =$95. 2 Spanish eggs which had changed from the last time we came here, a serving of the pot set avocado and goat chèvre, pumpkin bread with cured salmon, and I had the lamb and quinoa salad + extra poached egg (the egg makes the meal a breakfast right?) which was a bit skimp with the lamb but still tasty. Definitely one of my fave places for a fab coffee in St Kilda!
