There's lots of wood and wicker seating out front with shady umbrellas, and I would recommend sitting outside because the chairs inside squeak on the floor so bad I started grinding my teeth. Now, the biscuits: I had coconut macarons, lime shortbread, and coffee florentines, and they were too delicious to believe, try them for yourself. As soon as you place a coffee order they bring you a water glass on a whimsical silver platter, as if to say 'cleanse your palate lady, you're in for a ride.' The atmosphere is somewhat helped by the charismatic pastry chef, but at the end of the day, it's all about the cakes. And they're damn good cakes.

Unlike a lot of other bakeries you can buy a roll with filling, which can make for a nice alternative to the pastry heavy staples. The prices are also really decent, with muffins going for as little as $2, which is a bit of a bargain these days. The staff are also really nice and always have a smile on their faces. If you've spent a bit of money next door and feel like a guilty pleasure afterwards, then just pop into here for a bite.

One you won't find elsewhere is their "Nut Corner", a delicious slab of chocolate coated crunchy nut slice, of crushed nuts held together with glucose and honey. YUM. Hello my week's worth of fat. I queued up with a loud woman in a wheelchair, a man who smelt like he hadn't seen a shower in years, and a tradesman with less than room temperature IQ. And we were all there for the Vietnamese pork rolls. Their rolls are $3.50 for single meat or $4 for combination or Thai chicken. I went the Thai chicken - delicious! Suspect paste on the bottom - I don't want to know its ingredients - yet full of fresh coriander, cucumber, carrot, and tasty chicken. I also tried a rice cake of some description - I wouldn't go there again. It had the taste and consistency of thin rice noodles cooked into a clump and piled with sugar. The other sweets in here look aed little too colourful and creamy - I like my colour as real as possible, same with my cream, so I stayed away.
