Stopped here for a break after checking out the flower market that takes over the streets on Sunday mornings. There were at least a hundred bagel sandwiches lined up along the window seal for passerby's to "ohh" and "ahh" at.
Inside, there's the room for ordering, a dining room, and a nice outdoor terrace out back (see picture). I was completely overwhelmed by the selection, and the owner was very helpful in narrowing down what I would like. I ended up settling for the bacon, egg, and mayo bagel. It cost roughly 3 pounds for the bagel only, and I think 4 pounds for a bagel and coffee. He asked if I would like to warm my bagel, which I would recommend doing.
The bagel was fresh and soft - something I wasn't really expecting. The bacon, egg, mayo filling was just okay for me - though the ingredients were very fresh - and I could tell that no corners were cut in the preparation of the bagel - I think I just chose the wrong one. As I was leaving, I eyed the mozzarella, tomato, and wild rocket bagel and mentally made a note to have that one the next time I'm back.
Definitely a place worth checking out. Just chose the wrong bagel, which means a 3 star vs. 4 star review. Will definitely update once I the other bagel sandwich. read more
