It was a windy and cold evening. Looked for a place to have some tapas. This Bar/Restaurant here is located on the main plaza in Santona (Plaza San Antonio). Our Bulldog wasn't allowed inside, but luckily there was an empty table outside that was even blocked from the wind, so it wasn't too cold.
Ordered a bunch of items and two glasses of wine (white first, then two red).
Had a deep-fried eggplant sandwich (eggplant instead of bread), a tapa with jamon, one with little fish, one with jamon and a croqueta and a tapa with goat cheese and tomate. And a bowl of shrimp.
Quality was all very good. Shrimp were fresh and cooked nicely, not overcooked.
Goat cheese was great. Spain has wonderful goat cheese. The deep-fried sandwich was interesting, but probably not something I'd order too often. A bit too oily and lacking of flavour. Jamon was of nice quality, sadly a bit dried out from sitting on the Tapas Counter for a while I assume. The little fish looked a bit scary, but are actually very good and surprisingly mild-tasting. A nice item.
All in all still a very good meal here. Some really nice tapas combinations. Staff was friendly and the prices on the lower side. read more
