I was quickly seen to when I sat down, and I asked about breakfast. Mainly I asked if the sausages had gluten. They do (as many sausages do), but the server asked if I would like to substitute the sausage with more bacon. To which I replied "yes, please. I would like all of the bacon."
I had a hot chocolate while I waited for my meal and really just soaked up the feel of the place. They were playing classical music, which is my favourite, and just seems to class up a place. I did some exploring and checked out their assortments of cakes and pastries (sadly, none of them gluten free).
My meal took a little bit longer than I might have expected, but I was also on my own, so I didn't have much to do but wait. The amount of people coming in and out seemed consistent but not overbearing. The server told me it was a bit busier than usual, probably because of the rain.
Once I got my meal, I gobbled it up! It was good solid food. I also checked out the rest of their menu. Plenty of great sounding sandwiches (although, again, no gluten free bread option). I'm sure I will find myself sitting down to one of their baked potatoes at some point!
Overall, very enjoyable, and I can see myself coming here on a weekend afternoon to try and get some writing or designing done with a constant stream of hot chocolates and cappuccinos. I wish they did takeaway coffee in the morning, because it would be great to support a local business with my morning latte patronage! read more
