We came here on a rainy afternoon and ordered lunch, you can choose from "lunch special" or just an a la carte menu, we both opted for the lunch special since it came with the salad and soup bar. We both ordered the fish, which was lightly fried with cream sauce and boiled potatoes, it was very good, super tasty! The salad bar was ok, it's located behind the counter where you order and there's some selection but it gets a bit old by the end of the afternoon, the soup was great. You order upfront and then find a table to sit while they make your order and will bring it to your table. It overlooks the lake area and boardwalk area so there are some tables with a nice view and in the summer there's lots of outdoor patio seating, which is really cozy. Viskan Cafè Bistro Bar has the best location of all restaurants and cafés in Borås. Their large outdoor terrace in the summer season is perfect for people spotting, right next to the pedestrian-only street and with the beautiful view of the Viskan Creek and the City Park across it. Viskan Café offers quite a good selection of typical cafe food and drinks, and on Friday and Saturday evenings they also offer bistro menu. Viskan is one of the few cafés in Borås that is allowed to serve alcohol. Sometimes there's also live music in the weekends. It's also one of the most popular cafés resulting in long lines and the risk of all tables being busy. That's the only setback. read more

A café located beautifully next to the river in the heart of Borås. To my great surprise this place offered a huge selection of food and pastry that were GF and it did not end there - they had pastry alternatives that were adjusted for people wanting or needing: lactose free, fodmap, sugar free, GI and much much more! The food offered was a wide variety from sandwiches and soup to bigger cooked, warm meals. I ended up having a very nice lunch at this café and buying a pastry to enjoy on the train back to Stockholm. And yes, the pastry was fantastic. The atmosphere of the place inside was cosy and a bit romantic, shabby chic. They also have a big outdoors serving close by the water. One of the very best cafés I have ever encountered - location and selection was a hit. Would love to go here again and warmly recommend it. read more

I stopped by for a glass of wine after work. Very cute decor. Very friendly staff! They had two choices for red, the Italian Rossi wasn't bad. I didn't try the food because I was holding off for dinner, but everything on display looked really good. Would pop in for lunch another time. read more

Great value for your money at lunch. We had a wonderful creamy pasta with shrimps and Parmesan. Great location, nice ambience, friendly staff. Small salad buffet with a wonderful green tapenade. Coffee and drinks also included, you can't beat that in Borås. read more

Pretty bad service to take a long time to make coffee I would like to offer more treats and candy stuff like that would be really nice having more selection would be much better but I saw that your cups were not clean and were dirty as the dishes were also dirty so if they could wash little bit more it will be really nice. read more
