We both ordered the fish, which was lightly fried with cream sauce and boiled potatoes, it was very good, super tasty! The salad bar was ok, it's located behind the counter where you order and there's some selection but it gets a bit old by the end of the afternoon, the soup was great. You order upfront and then find a table to sit while they make your order and will bring it to your table. It overlooks the lake area and boardwalk area so there are some tables with a nice view and in the summer there's lots of outdoor patio seating, which is really cozy. Orion is considered to have good selection of salads, but in my opinion at least the vegetarian salad is awful. I can't speak for the rest. The prices at Orion is very good and a bit lower than the rest of the cafés in Borås. They have good sandwiches, cookies, cakes and pastries. So it's especially good for familes with kids, students and retired people, because you don't need to shell out 15 EUR for a latte, sandwich and a cake. The interior lacks finess but still manage to works anyway. It was renovated maybe 10 years ago, before that it had this decadent interior with old antique furniture and gold framed pictures on the wall. But it reeked of smoke. Orion was the first café that became a non-smoking cafe in Borås, and shortly thereafter they renovated it into its current look, which is a undefined retro 50s style in somber beige and brown colour palette. The atmosphere is generally laid back. There might be long lines, sometimes even outside, but the staff is efficient and work through the line quickly.

They offer a good selection of cakes and a soup(?), pasta and salad buffet for eating. I often go for their meat pies. As always, you could wish for a larger portion. The café has two rooms and a back yard for seating. I believe even outdoor seating by the street. Especially the smaller room by the counter is a bit loud when a larger group come together. A bit cramped but cozy.
