Knowing its history made it difficult to watch The Fall Guy The facility is almost a hundred years old and it feels it. The seats are old, small, and uncomfortable. In its proper context, I'm sure it was magical in its day. It is a one time experience.

Folies Bergere 03/20/20…read more My first visit to Paris we had tickets to a show at Folies Bergère. The experience was one that is burned into my memory. The place is historic. Beautiful chandeliers came down from the ceiling. Women in feathered costumes were on stage and hanging from the chandeliers. Nudity unseen in my world at that time can not be forgotten. Needless to say I've never been to a show like that again. I can see by the recent reviews the place is not the same. Shows like Cabaret and Zorro can not replicate the spirit of the original shows. I see that Yelpers are not posting or reviewing. Maybe it's a Senior Citizen crowd now. What I know: "Folies Bergère is a cabaret music hall, located at 32 rue Richer in the 9th Arrondissement, the Folies Bergère was built as an opera house by the architect Plumeret. It opened on 2 May 1869 as the Folies Trévise, with light entertainment including operettas, comic opera, popular songs, and gymnastics. But seriously people, this is Paris, and if you can't get used to climbing a few extra flights, you're just not really having any fun. I saw Sebastian Marx host Sand Van Roy and Tom Rhodes, all three of them very good. It happened to be Tom's 30th anniversary of stand-up comedy so there was a convivial yet cozy atmosphere, and homemade cake afterward. Seats were comfortable, prices are fair for the show (which btw comes with a consummation- yes!) and well basically, it's easiest just to let you know that I am going back this weekend.

Go see for yourselves. We liked it so much. It was our planned stop in route to Moulin Rouge, and that proved to us that we just had to bring our tribe with us on the way back. That's right. It was good, but I'd say it wasn't crazy strong. My wife got the Miami Vice Negroni and we both thought it was meh. Being as you're in Montmartre, there are plenty of bars to visit. I'd definitely make Dirty Dick a spot to visit if you're doing a crawl.
