This cafe located in the otherwise drab Patronato, is one of my favorites and one of the first of its kind in Recoleta. As you pass by, you can't help put stop and stare at their perfectly made and beautifully designed pastries. As you walk in, you only find more interesting options. This is a Korean cafe and pastry shop where their description is in both Korean as well as Spanish (pretty cool if you ask me). Also, another thing that is interesting is the way they pre-package their pastries, giving them a more processed look even though they are made by them with few preservatives. They also have a great coffee selection of both sweet (machiatos, flavored coffees) as well as the normal espresso and latte - the perfect way to start your morning. I recommend accompanying your morning coffee with one of their many different bread options (they have both sweet and savory) My fav is their cheese bread. You can also buy loafs to take home. For the hotter days I always get one of their natural fruit smoothies (you can also go all out and get a surprisingly good milkshake). Tip: They have fairly cheap and beautiful personal cakes that are the perfect cake to give a coworker or friend. You can also order ahead of time and get a larger one made. Don't forget to take pictures because you won't find cakes like this anywhere else!

We ordered a cafe cortado with a thick, rich espresso and accompanied it with a delicious chocolate cake. The ambiance was perfect for us to relax while we talked on their big couch and caught up on my life in Chile. My mom was enamored with the cafe and their friendly staff. (Plus, it was a ton of fun to people watch from their big windows.) I have since come back a number of times to work from my computer (they have great WIFI) and it has always been a nice experience. Keep in mind however, this is not one of those cafes where you can stay the whole day working. This is mainly because of a lack of space, although they have just remodeled and there are now more tables. Their location is super easy to get to, they are less than a block away from the Santa Lucia metro (red line). I definitely recommend Cafe San Isidro, it is the ideal setting to either come alone and enjoy a book or have an intimate conversation between friends over a delicious cup of coffee.

They have delicious sandwiches if you need a snack and an assortment of pastries. Free wifi and right by metro Santa Lucia. I don't think I can illiterate enough how yummy their coffee is. Sometimes I will drink two Cortados in one sitting, not because I need the caffeine but because they are so tasty! I think one of the most important things that make this place stand out to me is their service. Always really nice and the people who work there will even take a minute and chat with you about your day, always an added bonus.
