My Uber driver told me to come here, it's where he used to eat when he drove a taxi. "It's the real Portuguese food and you won't be paying too much" I saw octopus and potatoes on the menu but they didn't have it when I went so I ended up with the cod fritters rice plate and a glass of white wine. The fritters we had a smooth and creamy inside that almost felt like it was whipped and I loved how they weren't super greasy. They put a lot of care into the sides which I always deeply appreciate, the rice and beans were excellent and simple side salad was fresh cut and clean tasting. The plate was literally totally clean by the time I was done. Staff was great as well, just enough banter and checking in to not be intrusive. Total was 12 euro for this plate and the wine, something like this would easily cost double in the Bay Area.
