BACKSTORY: Recently one of the springs on our garage door broke. Of course, both of our cars were…read moretrapped inside. In a pinch, I contacted another garage door company and made an appointment the same afternoon. They never came out that day, but did the following morning and replaced the spring. At the end, their repairman basically told me our garage door was in bad shape (drums shot, cable ready to snap, etc.) and quoted us $605 if we did it in the next 24-hours. Called Discount Garage Door for a quote to do the job. Chris was sent to my house within two hours and told me that the door rollers should be replaced, but that the garage door lift equipment was perfectly fine. He also asked who did the spring replacement t and told me that they were very undersized for my type of garage door.
