The two people I interacted with we're friendly and very helpful. I really appreciate the care they took to help me. Previous review: We went to this bank after visiting another B of A, where the people were at least nice but completely clueless when I asked them to deposit a large check from the State of California. They didn't know what to do with it and told me it was a "worthless check". (It was from the state's controller's office!) We then went to this branch and a kid slash manager working there took the check, after hearing our story, and left for several minutes. Instead of looking into it himself he clearly just called the other branch because when he came out, he parroted the same things the other branch said. He was very smug about it and extremely unhelpful. It was so baffling that he could be a manager and unable or unwilling to look into how to handle a state issued check like this... We went to Wells Fargo and after 20 minutes we had a new account with the money safely deposited. We were treat respectfully and they were very professional. They may not have known right away how to process the check but the manager spent the time making phone calls to figure it out. Bank of America employees usually seem to be put off when asked to think about something outside the box or do a little extra work on the part of the customer. They can be so snotty! That kind of attitude is bred within, from the top down.

I think it cheapens the financial institution to become an insurance peddler. I work hard to stay off junk lists, and this is a major setback. It is a fact that these mailing list are bought and sold daily. My other junk mail has picked up considerably and I credit Delta for likely selling that info to junk mail lists. I opened an account at a "non insurance peddling" financial institution this week and will be moving my business there. Epically disappointing Delta.
