The so-called sweet and sour sauce was home made with chunks of pineapple and onion mixed in. It looked like a brownish soup-like sauce that did not taste like the traditional sweet and sour you see in other restaurants (thick reddish sauce that is very sweet with a hint of sour). I used it but was not satisfied with the taste or texture. Finally, an order of pork fried rice which was made with white rice and a few vegetables ($11 a little pricy). I don't know if their AC was working, although the ambient temperature seemed comfortable to me. I'm not sure why they had a floor-stand fan oscillating. At the table where I sat, the fan was blowing on me every time it swung in my direction. I had to get up and move to the other side of the table so that I could avoid this problem. This did not affect my appraisal rating of the food I ordered but it was annoying. It took approximately 15 minutes to receive the order. For one person, I'll admit it was a little more than I wanted to eat in one sitting. I shared it with my wife. But with tax everything came to just under $40 which was too expensive. I will not eat here again and will stay with one of my other favorite restaurants that makes their food in a more traditional sense for less money.

Other customers came in, but when he had time he told me about his two years in the US Army as a draftee from San Diego n the mid 1960s. He stayed here to open his business and has been cooking food ever since. "If I had retired from the army, I'd be over 100 years old now!" he said. He only shuts down when he travels for a week.
